Not so happy with the waiting system and attitude of reception. I understand that it’s hard to book this restaurant, even though it makes absolutely no sense cause bookings are filled up weeks if not months before. Even then I still understand, due to popularity and demand. However, during my lovely stay, I waited 2 days starting at 6pm as instructed by the reception. Today was just horrible, I came at 6 exactly, told the front desk that I was only interested in fusion not teppanyaki. She told me to come back at 615/645 I chose 645. She said that it depends on cancellation, which is understandable. I came back at 645, she told me there’s only teppayanki available, as mentioned I said I’m only interested in fusion, I can wait, she then made it seem like there was space, by suggesting 745, came back again, asked them and said sorry it’s fully booked, try again tomorrow. This wasn’t what really frustrated me, but the attitude and the way she talked, suggesting that I should’ve just took the teppanyaki offer instead. I’m not trying to feel entitled, like I said I understand if there’s no space. But the way she delivered the “news” after two hours of waiting. Hence the one star review, cause it really ruined the entire...
Read moreThis is a tough review. We had two meals here, one teppanyaki and the other a la carte menu.
First visit. A la Carter menu, 5 stars! Our service was excellent!!! He was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious!
Second visit, teppanyaki Food 3 stars, Chicken overcooked Vegetables were good
Service from wait staff, 5 stars
Chef, 2 stars...because with 9 people at the table where 6 spoke English, he only spoke to the 3 who spoke Spanish and ignored everyone else. Understanding a tiny amount of Spanish, I caught a string of the conversation, between chef and patron, that if you come to Mexico you should speak the language (said by a Spanish speaking patron).
As with other reviews for my week at XCaret Arte, it appears several locals are becoming less accommodating to non-spanish speaking tourists.
As we travel here annually, I guess it's either time to learn Spanish or choose another...
Read moreTah-Xido had a fun and romantic atmosphere with all three types of dining, Omakase, Teppanyaki, and a la carte. We did the a la carte which was fantastic! Such a wide selection of food and drinks. The fried wontons with lobster, crab and shrimp were one of my favourites! The dish that will bring us back is the Rock Shrimp main dish!! Our server Luis Palacios was excellent! His timing on every dish was perfect, he was charming and suggested drinks to us which were incredible. It was my birthday celebration and he surprised me with the most beautiful piece of art work for dessert! It was a cherry tree surrounded by fancy stones, soil and a tree trunk twisted with chocolate. It was not only a visual stunner, it was all edible and even though we were stuffed from all the delicacies we tried, we ate every bit of that dessert.❤️ Thank you Tah-Xido and Carlos for making a special evening even more...
