The Pub — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

BEWARE - The restaurant staff has created a nice little scam to rob you of your money. You have dinner, drinks...drinks, and then the check comes. Hand written with no available itemized copy...convenient. The amount owed is in peso's as expected, you attempt to pay with a CC but the waiter informs you that the CC machine is broken and you must pay with cash (dollars), you are given the amount owed verbally...it doesn't sound right and you do not bother to question the math. SHAME on ME for being so foolish. The next day you question the bill and do the math (sober this time) and discover you have been charged almost twice what you should have paid.

LESSON LEARNED - Do not trust the wait staff and ALWAYS check the math!! We had this same scam attempted several times during our recent visit. Thankfully I learned from the first...

If I could give a Negative review I would!!! This place is a scam. Food is terrible! They promised us a table for 30 people with food, drinks, and specific space that we rented. They DID NOT DELIVER on their promise. Table wasn't ready. We had to put the chairs and tables together. other patrons were inside of the space we reserved and paid for wouldn't move. after repeated attempts to get them to move, and asking the owner to move them as promised, these people decided to get violent. The man in their group of 3 pushed a young lady who was trying to translate for us, then the women in their group punched this young lady. We asked the owner to remove them from the restaurant at that point, and he refused. This place is honestly the worse. I would never ever...

The best American style fish and chips I've yet found in QRoo after sampling many many places. Large portion of really good white fish plus tartar sauce that tastes like tartar sauce. Service was great.

Edit: last trip tartar was no longer remotely like tartar sauce. Plus though, they did try making tartar repeatedly to deliver what I wanted. I did have to ask 4x for the check before they finally brought me the wrong one. 10 minutes after that I finally I had my check for dinner and drinks for four people, 2000 peso including tip. Overall, was really disappointed.

Venue is simple and clean. Bathrooms are similar, simple, clean, with seats and paper.
