Antigua Trattoria Romana — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

Waited almost ten minutes at the door to come in.No one around to let me in. Door roped off..Restaurant had only three clients inside.-almost empty... Ordered take out.. Waited almost one hour for the worst pizza ever.---no tomato sauce like the menu said, , no anchovies, just cheese, three pieces of black olives,(probably equaled one olive) and the pizza was half cooked.--white on the bottom, dough fell apart it was sooo thin..-worst pizza ever..... Soup to go--top came off on the way home and-had to hold it not to spill in the cab...awful.. The worst experience ever---waste of time and money. ..I came in before another lady too but the waiter took her order first..waiter needs more training..Then, finally when the waiter brings my order, he walks away making me wait more time for him to collect the check.. In the meantime I left the right amount of $$ and left---Bad service from beginning to end...At least the fries at Mc Donalds are consistent... Every time I order food there it comes back different than the menu... What is going on?? Need less to say, not going back... Three bad experiences is enough--paying for food I did not order...p.s. was my ...

The pizzas are not at all Italian style artisan pizza. The dough was thick, there was too much cheese and the pizza was only okay. Saying that, food other people had around us looked delicious (we can only refer to the pizza). What made our visit unpleasant though was the service from the creepy waiter. My partner and I don’t drink alcohol and we don’t drink during a meal so we didn’t order a drink. He kept asking before during and after dinner repeatedly what we wanted to drink making us feel like we should order one just to be left alone. When paying by card he hovered around the table asking us straight out to adjust the bill for the tip. By this time we felt so hassled we didn’t want to leave one. we were still chatting for about 10 min. during which he came three times to check up on the tip in a very intimating way. The restaurant is full of ex pats, especially Americans and we were happy to leave this loud place. Won’t come back to try other things because of that...

We used to be regulars at this place but no more. We had a horrible experience last time. There was a power outtake so they were using candles at the tables. Pizzas were good as usual. We paid and went home. When we had walked for about a couple of minutes the waiter came running. out of breath and shouted at us. He looked offended, upset and told us we had paid 60 pesos too little. We checked the bill and it was correct (with the tips I think there were actually only 10 p missing). Probably we misread the bill in the low light. We apologized and paid him but he still looked at us as if we did it on purpose and was trying to rob the place. One of the older waiters at the place, weird guy. Then a young kid came running from the place as well, completely out of breath and shouting about the bill as well. They really embarrassed us over 60 pesos. So very unprofessional. Not going back there. They saved 60 pesos but lost a family of regular...
