Honestly, this place is a tourist trap. It tries to imitate a traditional fonda, but the dishes are clearly adjusted for foreigners. The flavors were bland and lacked authenticity, likely to cater to a wide range of travelers. If you're seeking a truly authentic experience, you're better off looking elsewhere.
The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. The waiter seemed more focused on being the “employee of the month” than actually serving customers. There was no flexibility or willingness to make adjustments. For example, the 1-liter beer, sold as a caguama (big bottle), had to be served in one massive jar, making it impossible to pour yourself as needed. A lot of unnecessary rules seemed to exist for the sake of enforcing them.
Additionally, when the card terminal wasn’t working (despite a sticker on the door claiming otherwise), we offered a solution by paying via bank transfer. Instead of handling this smoothly, the waiter insisted we add his number to WhatsApp and send unnecessary confirmation screenshots, completely ignoring the fact that the issue was on their end.
Overall, the experience felt more like jumping through hoops than enjoying a meal. Definitely not...
