Restaurante Cafe Monet — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

It was the worst meal in San Miguel. The service here is the WORST. We had to wait over TWO HOURS for our food. Even the drinks were wrong. Over one hour for them to bring an orange juice. My daughter asked for chocolate milk and they brought her Chai Latte (after 50 minutes of waiting). About an hour later of placing our order the waiter says they don't have a dish we had ordered. The waiter was nowhere to be seen, I had to approach directly to the bar to get a coke I asked for. Some dishes arrived 90 minutes late, and had the wrong sides. When we told the waiter the order was wrong, he took it back to the kitchen and the cook starts SHOUTING that orders cannot be changed. My sister's food was brought to the table 2 HOURS after we placed the order and it was COLD. We had to cancel one dish that even after two hours was not served yet. We asked to speak with the manager and instead of giving an apology she hided with our waiter in a back room. We asked for the check to one of the other waiters and he brought it saying he was not responsible of anything because this was not his table. We a couple in our 40s and we didn't have electricity at home today, so we thought why not visit Cafe Monet? Good food, good service and interesting decor. I would recommend to avoid because after spending 2 hours and 800 pesos, the owner told his waiter to ask us to leave because we were not eating enough.There was only one other table occupied in the place. How rude is that? I left my half finished rum and left. Waiter was apologetic. Our only explanation is that we both were on our laptops and teh owner didn't like that--he is old and obviously a curmudgeon who does not understand the modern world. So be prepared to order half the menu if you want to stay more than 2 hours..

Bad service The waiter didnt know anything about the menu.after showing what was on the menu he told us we couldn't have certain things because he didn't know they sold that. People at my table were shushed while ordering because the waiter said we couldn't order drinks or he would lose his focus. Not everyone received drinks but the waiter wouldnt come by or wouldnt take drink orders so several people just ended up sharing. He tried to over charge us for extra meals . 3 out of 6 meals came out then 20 minutes later 1 more then another 45 minutes they said they were going to put the order in for the last 2.
