This great bakery is for real, since years and generations of a family of traditional bakers, they have what real Sanmiguelense natives have loved over many generations: perfectly-turned out breads for every taste and event. The branch on Canal Street is very nice, closer to the markets, but, the legendary baguette disappears by 8 AM if you don't make a special order -- all the AirB&Bs and restaurants quietly slip in to "La Espiga-Canal" and clean out the shelves - so, make an order at Insurgentes "Del Bueno" Bakery, it is La Espiga - their name is the symbol for Ceres, lady of agriculture, grain crops, fertility, and, motherly relationships. Talk about a nurturing experience in SMA.

Too expensive for such shitty and...

The bread is as good as it gets and the cookies and cakes are superb. The prices are quite reasonable as well, perhaps due to its non-central location. I am a big fan of baked goods and this place will...
