Garufa San Miguel de Allende — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

We had a group of 5 adults, including my husband, two girlfriends, another husband, and me. We sat on the roof for 4th of July and had an amazing meal and time. We had fantastic service from Rojo and Dulce- they were our new amigas by the end of the night. We had appetizers, entres, and desserts, along with cocktails and wine. Everything was great! We would definitely return and ask for Rojo and Dulce again. As far as some of the negative remarks about food coming out at different times, this is pretty standard in Mexico. I prefer to get my food when it is ready versus having it sit under a heat lamp until everyone else’s is ready, too. That being said, we spend a lot of time in Mexico so I’m used to that, and we all usually share our food, too, so things get passed around. I stopped in for dinner last night but was so disappointed.... I ordered a salad, grilled chicken with grilled vegetables. The chicken and bread basket were good but the salad was a pile of lettuce with too much vinegar and fried onions on top. The waiter brought it out at the same time as the meal. That is just not the way you serve a customer dinner. Shame on him for doing that. The chicken was fine but instead of veggie they gave me a big nasty grilled onion with green peppers. I ate the chicken and choked down some of the lettuce. I didn't enjoy the meal at all. I could have gone to Pork Belly and had a great meal for half the price with better service. Terrible experience, I don’t recommend it at all. My family and I came to the restaurant to have a great time but the restaurant’s manager ruined it all. We asked for empanadas as a starter, and instead of telling us they didn’t have certain flavors available, they brought us what they had without consulting us before. When we complained the blond manager was rude, arrogant and totally disrespectful in the way she approached the claim. The waiters were really kind and tried to make up for their manager’s attitude, they apologized in her behalf. As if it was not enough, the steak we ordered had a weird flavor similar to soap or detergent, besides the meat was merely raw when we asked for something else. Totally...
