I just had a late lunch here about an hour ago and we cannot explain how horrible the service was. We were a large group since we are here for an event. We told them we think we are about 20 people and they said no problem and took us up and split us into two tables next to each other. Two others we forgot to count came up and the wait staff told them they couldn’t sit and had to leave. We couldn’t believe they were being turned away when there were PLENTY of open tables. We asked if they could take a two top next to us and they said no. It was for a reservation. And they said EVERY table had a reservation. I found that a little hard to believe.
Also, we understand it was a hot day but they completely closed up the terrace blocking the breeze. The heat from the kitchen swelled up our feet and we had asked for them to bring us a fan or open up the cover just a little to allow the breeze in. We heard from both the manager and the waitstaff that it’s a terrace and we should just deal with it. There was nothing they could do.
After we paid for the bill, two people wanted an extra drink. After they finished, they asked to bring the check over and they said we were fine and everything was paid for. Since we were a large group, we figured someone might have picked it up and headed down. At the entrance, they held us there saying we didn’t pay our tab. They were so rude even after explaining we had specifically asked for the check on that and they said sorry about that but you can’t leave. They made us feel like we were dining and dashing!!
If the food tasted good, I could possibly look past the terrible service but that wasn’t even good. The aguachile had no lime! The other food we got was dry and not as flavorful as I prefer. We were brought salsa and no chips!! When I asked for chips they looked at me and asked, “you want more chips????” And I snapped back saying we haven’t gotten chips in the hour we’ve sat here. I have had an amazing time here in San Miguel but this restaurant was by far the worst experience of my time here. I prefer every other restaurant...
Read moreI'll start with the positives: the terrace has a lovely view from San Miguel, and Vladimir was really nice and helpful to our 12 party table. There was a live sax and violin for a song. And they do a big fuzz with sparks when you order the special dessert. Perfect for an Instagram story. The chocolate carajillo was really nice.
The food was less than average. I had a burger and it was so dry and tastless that at one point I doubted I had lost my sense of taste! It was cold and had just a few chips on the side. There were mistakes on the drinks we got, a couple of beers took ages to come, we didn't get water offered to the table, and the environment was so dark we had to use our phones to look at what we were eating.
There were 2 vegans in our table, and they got offered TWO options from the menu! And both were starters. Definitely NOT a vegan or vegetarian friendly restaurant.
The very high prices you pay are definitely only for the terrace, views and sparks. If you go for drinks, it is a nice place. But avoid if you're looking...
Read moreThis was the worst service Ive had I’ve had in San Miguel sadly. The service was so slow. I ordered tea and it took forever to come. Then when it did come… a waitress was cleaning the table next door and there was cleaning spray that she sprayed into my tea. When I asked for a fresh tea without windex they never brought it for about 20 mins. We had about 5 servers at different times, they all were so confused could not remember to bring several things we asked for. Overall we finished eating with a very incomplete meal. Then at the end they tried to charge for 2 teas even though it was their fault the tea had to be replaced. The servers were having a fight about it right by us! It was so in comfortable and Rude!!! They finally fixed that but I wont be back. The Carajillo classic was subpar at best. Couldnt even get more water… and it...
