We walked for 16 minutes just to visit this place and had high expectations because of the positive reviews (months old reviews). We arrived exhausted and greeted the staffs at the counter. The 2 guys greeted us back with serious or unpleasant face. Seems like we disturbed them from their phone time. There’s only 4 people in the place including us so it was not so busy. We were supposed to order cappuccino, but I found chai latte (which we like to drink too) so this is what we ordered (cold one). The drinks were served in a small glass and we can barely taste a chai in there. It’s just a drink with plenty of milk and a little bit of ice. the original price on the menu was 55 mxn so when we paid, we asked how much was the total price (no receipt) because it was short of 10 pesos. Later we found out that there is an additional 5 pesos for each drink for the ice (literally 3 cubes). Like, really? we don’t mind paying but it has to be reasonable. You can buy a big bag of ice for 15 mxn only. Before going out, we asked the guy at the counter to give us the receipt and he told us that he can email it to us if we want. so we got more curious why it has to be on email as what we were asking is just a regular receipt and not a factura. so we asked more questions why and he was a little grumpy already and said that he only issue a receipt if we paid in card (we paid cash). the receipt that he was referring to in paying by card is the card transaction and not a business transaction. so we asked again why because the customer has the right to see a receipt before paying and the guy became more grumpy. since we are in vacation and don’t want to ruin our day, I just said leave it and don’t waste our time in there! to recover from our disappointment, we went to Starbucks and have our real chai latte. I don’t usually give a review even if I am not satisfied with the food or drinks, but this cafe triggered me to write one. so...

Read moreThis coffee shop was one of my favorite stops on our trip to San Miguel de Allende. Located conveniently right next to our air bnb. The moment I walked in I felt a cozy, welcoming energy. The staff are incredibly friendly.
Inside you can find a cozy spot to chat, read or enjoy your beverage of choice. I don’t drink coffee, but they have plenty of non-coffee options as well (matcha, golden milk, tea, etc.) I got to try the lavender/citrus tea and matcha, which were delicious. If you do enjoy coffee, there are some creative options too. I suggest checking out the terrace upstairs, where you can bask in the sunshine. From their food menu I got to try the bone broth, el rancho quinoa bowl and the fruit plate with yogurt. All were delicious and felt nourishing.
This little cafe warmed my heart! Just getting to interact with the staff and take in the cozy energy of this spot...
