La 21unica — Restaurant in San Miguel de Allende

I wanted to love this cantina. Classic saloon-style doors, dark wood, lots of mezcals. But, yikes, the prices are like NYC. I get that SMdeA has been anglicized and prices are inflated, but caveat emptor, baby! My travel partner and I each had a simple shot of mezcal followed by a Modelo (beer) for him and a shot of tequila for me. In other words, all local, nothing imported; not a meticulously crafted cocktail between us. Price? US$30....

One of my favorite bars if you're sick of the fancy rooftops and looking for that fun Mexican cantina experience, complete with swinging doors and lots of San Miguel memorabilia on the walls.

Walked past this place when it was closed but it caught my attention since it was so close by to my place. Just the swinging doors alone got me, I went back later on when it was open and grabbed a beer and mixed drink while playing some music.
