From the moment you step through the doors of La Valise, you’re greeted by the kind of bewitching magic that lingers in your memory long after you’ve left. Even the air is curated—wonderful musky scents float through the space, mingling with the vibrant energy of historic art and thoughtful design touches at every turn. This is not just a hotel—it’s a living, breathing work of art, set on one of San Miguel’s most beautiful cobblestone streets.||The building is stunning, yes—elegant, artistic, and full of character—but the true soul of La Valise is its staff. Luis is the heartbeat of the hotel, radiating warmth and joy in a way that makes you feel like an old friend rather than a guest. He takes the time to know you, to understand what will make your stay extraordinary, and his bright personality is simply unforgettable.||Each morning, Karol greets you with a smile and a plate of something delicious— chilaquiles one day, creamy avocado toast the next—while gently helping you practice your Spanish. Marco is always ready with ideas for your day, from hidden-gem restaurants to the best local experiences. And behind the scenes, the incredible cleaning team sweeps into your room daily, working their quiet magic so you return to an oasis of fresh perfection.||The property itself is pure temptation: a serene courtyard pool for lazy afternoons, a terrace hot tub for stargazing nights, and sunlit spaces that beg you to linger. The location couldn’t be better—close to everything, yet still feeling like a tucked-away secret. People passing by often stop to admire the place, asking, “What is this?” And you get to smile, knowing it’s your temporary home.||We spent eight nights here, and each day I found myself more attached, less willing to think about leaving. La Valise is beautiful, yes—but beauty alone doesn’t make a stay unforgettable. Here, it’s the people, their care, and their spirit that transform your trip into something you’ll treasure. Once you enter, you may never want to leave.||If you’re coming to San Miguel de Allende, don’t just visit—live in it, stroll the jardin with an ice cream, lose yourself on the cobblestone streets. San Miguel is the heart of Mexico, and La Valise will welcome you as if you’ve always belonged—woven into its rhythm, part of the...
Read moreThis place blew my mind! The exterior is non-descript, but as soon as the door opens, you’ll find yourself in an oasis within the city.
We stayed in the Genesis suite, and it was incredible. Easily the best hotel room we’ve ever had. It was an experience for all of the senses; as soon as we walked in, the lighting was very romantic, the air was fragrant, there was the sound of birds chirping from the speakers, the architecture of the room was gorgeous. It felt as if we were staying in a private museum. The hallway leading to the bathroom was mirrored and beautifully illuminated. The bath house/room was unlike anything else we’d ever seen in a hotel room! The spacious, soaking walk-in tub was set in such a way that it was like having your own luxury spa experience. Just stunning. I also opted to have an in-room massage, and I highly recommend it.
Don’t be like us and forget your swimsuits, because the pool and upper terrace jacuzzi looked amazing.
On top of everything, the staff (Nicolas y Oscar) were genuinely kind, sweet and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was better than most hotel paid breakfasts.
Book it, you won’t regret it - just make sure you do it early because they...
Read moreWe have stayed in hotels all around the world, and La Valise SMA is, without a doubt, the most relaxing, welcoming, beautiful hotel we've ever enjoyed. The staff is incredibly responsive, warm, and fun to interact with.
Our suite was gracious and gorgeously appointed, an oasis of quiet despite the hotel's central -- and incredibly convenient -- location.
Between daily cleaning and turn-down service (with delicious nightly treats), our suite was always spotless and neatened -- we could feel the caring hands of committed cleaners every time we returned to our room.
Bottled water, soft drinks, and beer are freely and abundantly provided, and the delicious breakfast brought to our room each day was also included.
The location is so great. Every great restaurant we researched would turn out to be an eight minute walk max, and the main square with its magnificent cathedral is literally a block away. Yet our bedroom was totally serene, and - in case of fireworks - was equipped with a high-end sound machine and earplugs.
La Valise SMA will now be an annual destination. We miss it already, along with Marco, Nico, and the whole...
