re: Turkey Dinner, Thursday, November 28, 2024 Horrible experience Very disorganized. Lack of help and very poor service. Took over 30 minutes to have someone tend to my wife and I. It’s not until I signaled to the owner that she put our order in. When we got the cold turkey plate with the usual trimmings; both the sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts were not thoroughly cooked. The cornmeal stuffing ahh. Overall a very tasteless meal. At the entrance of the dining area it was posted a sign: bottle wine 400. Turkey Dinner Frozen 350. Equals 750. I guess take-out and nothing posted for sit-down. It turns out that it’s 750. Per person. We don’t drink liquor, we an ice tea and water. And the pumpkin pie must’ve been from out of a box -ahh. The whole thing was very misleading. We also recognize that we should have asked. We have been there for the turkey dinner in previous years but...

We met a new friend for lunch at La Frontera, she was a regular, and for good reason. The delicious food and delightful service here will earn your regular patronage. Tucked in Colonia San Antonio (perhaps the time of day, or, just for the great food) this little gem felt like a regular hang for gringos. People relaxing in comfortable chairs, others around a large table playing what sounded like a rousing game of Mexican Train. A very relaxing vibe for sure. As to the food, I had the taco salad, others had delicious looking sandwiches a BLT and a Cuban. You could taste the quality of ingredients and nicely plated. Not overworked, just right. Very pleasant experience with large outdoor dining area. It is billed as "Mexican American Comfort Food" which is about right, though my taco salad was better than any I've eaten in the states. My husband's organic chicken plate was very tasty. Chicken grilled to perfection, lots of vegetables and a perfectly baked sweet potato.
