I’ve been here a few times. The atmosphere is nice enough, food is fine, and entertainment is great. But every time I go, I have some sort of disappointment about how they run the place.
A week or so ago I went to see a great band there. I didn’t eat, but I did have 3 drinks. They surcharged me 200 pesos for the entertainment, even though all of their advertisements say 200 peso minimum consumption, not surcharge, and my drink total was over 200 pesos. Also I ordered my first drink 5 minutes before happy hour. And as soon as I got my drink, they handed me a different menu with the happy hour specials. This is understandable, even if frustrating.
The next time I went with my husband. We tried to order a 2 for 1 drink special, but they said we couldn’t share it!!! You mean we HAVE to drink 2 drinks each? We commonly split 2 for 1 drinks in other restaurants. It was a weekday, so we declined and drank water, from a tiniest plastic bottles I’ve ever seen in a restaurant, for 30 pesos each.
Then we wanted to pay with our credit card, and there was a 4% charge for that. Also almost unheard of in my experience here in San Miguel.
Surcharges without advance notice, ridiculous rules about drink specials, no complimentary water, charged for using a credit card…. I’d rather they just raise the prices rather than nickel and...
Read moreI have eaten here four times and more than the food, I love the atmosphere. The owner and waiters are really nice. The price is right as well. I like the live salsa nights. The only surprise was that at the end I was told there was a cover fee of 100 pesos per person when I have never been charged a cover. Apparently the owner told me about the cover but I didn't catch it. Most of the time I was there the band was setting up and they played about 5 songs before I left so I found the 200 pesos a little hefty for five songs. Aside from the surprise cover fee, the ambience is great with great service. I give it 5 stars overall cause the food is good, good ambience and the service...
