Los Zarapes — Restaurant in Sinaloa

This Golden Zone restaurant is located in the front patio of the Playa Bonita hotel. Mostly frequented by hotel guests as well as walk in customers like me. The morning breakfast crowd was small, which I always watch for a quick turn around once I place my order. The chorizo and egg plate, along with beans, also included a side of chilaquiles for free. All my favorites gathered on one plate. What a culinary treat! Not only did my order arrive promptly, but no corners were cut as some rushed meals sometimes are, thus resulting in a less than satisfying experience. The chorizo and eggs were well balanced as they should be, and the beans and chilaquiles rounded out the plate perfectly. Ahh, presentation is one thing, as we all know, but satisfying my taste buds is entirely another. It did not disappoint friends. To the last bite, this plate tasted so amazing that I walked away totally happy with my choices, barely leaving anything for the dishwasher to clean! Our resort recommended this place to us. Walking distance from pueblo Bonita mazatlan where we were staying (all inclusive resort). I asked them where we could get real authentic Mexican food and they recommended El zarapes. We got here at 6 pm on Saturday night (Christmas day) and there was only one table occupied. By the time we ordered desert, 7:30 pm, the place was full. Gabriel and Eduardo where are servers. Both very polite and top notch. We ordered the molcajete zarape, beef chicken shrimp, and the Cielo Mar y tierra Before that, Eduardo made us table side fresh salsa using the molcajete method with onion, garlic and many other fresh ingredients. A Hidden Gem in the Golden Zone!

We visited this restaurant for the first time and were absolutely blown away! From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch, the atmosphere was inviting, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food we received.

I ordered the filet mignon, while my boyfriend opted for the ribs—both were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The experience began with complimentary salsa made fresh right at our table, and it was hands down some of the best we’ve ever had. To top it all off, my frozen margarita was generously sized and the perfect complement to our meal.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem in the Golden Zone, and we can’t wait to come back....
