I’m in America right now writing this review with tears in my eyes remembering all the great and bad days when I was going to annajma. It’s 2023 and restaurants around the world try to find ways to trick the customer. Some restaurants around the world get Michelin stars. Annajma deserves to get all the stars in the world because honestly it’s a place where you can order paella, not even Moroccan food and they will cook it absolutely to perfection. Fish soup, like the best Asian chef did it! Fish and chips, like Gordon Ramsey needs to quit his business and Greek fish cooked to perfection as if the chef is a greek god! Tangiers has just one nice restaurant and that’s annajma, and trust me I have tried pretty much everything. But I can’t wait to come back just to eat at annajma. I have no words for this place because it feels exactly like home every time I have been there. Furthermore, the staff is exceptional, from the chef’s salutation, owner’s approach of being part of the service team and the waiters that they never let me down for calamar belti. Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE!! horrible experience.waiter brought out calamari that was so incredibly bitter you could immediately taste that it was off. my son is now ill. we sent it back and the waiter tried to ask us to make it look like we ate nothing. He took it back saying a refund for it was not possible. Spoke to the manager who also refused, claiming they sell too many plates of it a day for it to be bad and that it is expensive. They charged us on the receipt even though they didn’t bring the plate back to us. How does that make sense? A big commotion meant that other customers were watching and so they finally refunded the 140dh. They lack principle and are just money hungry and will get people sick. The ceiling was also leaking upstairs through the vents over the tables and they still were sitting people down. Read moreI have never experienced a meal made with such a lack of care and warmth. From the moment I entered, the atmosphere was tense and chaotic. The owners were constantly yelling at the staff, shouting from behind the counter and even from the upper floor. It was impossible to enjoy the meal with that kind of noise and stress.
As for the food, it was bland and uninspired. The meat was tough and difficult to chew. For the price they charge, I expected a much higher standard of both food and service.
