A year ago in 2016, I walked into this shopping center right after it first opened holding a small bag containing my expensive iPad and a telephone and some papers, and immediately I was followed and confronted by an aggressive security guard who insisted that I check my small bag. I refused and walked out.

In late-November 2017, I decided to walk to Malabata on a sunny and warm day, and I was delighted to see that all has been corrected at the Tanger City Mall.

Although there were numerous visible uniformed security guards on all three levels, they were all polite to me after I walked in the front door entrance with a small bag containing my iPad and telephone which I did not have to check in. And the friendly woman at the help desk also spoke good English.

After walking around on the marble-floored and well-lit street level, passing ultra-modern glass-walled elevators and several working escalators (unlike the Tanger Boulevard shopping mall on Avenue Mohammed V which has had one broken escalator for over a year), I went into a Samsung shop to look for a new original Samsung charging cable for my telephone, which they had.

Then I proceeded to the large well-stocked ElectroPlanet store where a salesman remembered me from when he worked at another ElectroPlanet near the Marjane where I had bought my new television, 4-door refrigerator, and Franke 5-burner stove and a new German-made hot water heater.

I asked a security guard where the fish restaurant was located and he told me on the 3rd level, so I took an elevator up, enjoying the birds eye view through its glass walls. To my disappointment, I soon discovered that this second Casa Garcia fast food mall version of the wonderful fish restaurant based in Asilah, was closed until November 21st.

Someone had reviewed Casa Garcia for Google Maps and said it had the best soup de poisson.

Afterwards I took the elevator back down to the ground level and left the Tanger City Center, delighted to know that my previous review and complaint about overly-aggressive security guards towards tourists must have made a difference.

I believe is an excellent and well-run shopping mall, and as good as the new Socco Alto. It is very attractive, air-conditioned and heated. You can easily think you are in America or Europe here.

Things are definitely looking up in Tangier. I will definitely be back regularly at Tanger City Center to shop, and I will also visit the large Acima supermarket, ElectroPlanet, Lacoste, Casa Garcia, Samsung and other businesses here.

There is a large movie theater on the upper level at Tangier City Center, that is possibly the largest and most modern in Tangier (the other is the restored Cinema Rif). The entire mall is heated and cooled and is immaculately clean with beautiful marble...

I'll start with the bad side; people come for no reason to shop, eat or watch so basically they make it crowded for actual shoppers and its bad, sometimes you can't breathe and people do actually smell and get sweaty so yeah. The good side is the location, it's kinda near for everyone to reach, also they have different quality of brands means all people can actually afford to shop from that mall prices of a shirt could be 60MAD to 2000MAD. It has different types of food you can find all you'd like to eat and drink. The cinema programs are fine, they do bring some good movies, the prices are 65MAD for normal so its fine. They have an area for the kids and a space for games. And they do take care of the hygiene of their bathrooms but when it's summer it get crowded and its better if you just avoid them. so its fine for a mall that receives different types of people I guess.. not my favourite mall in tangier but still a mall I go to when I...

Clean, modern, safe. Many useful stores/places, including a cinema (which is good), gym ( okay), food supermarket ( medium size, good, well stocked, tidy, modern), electrical goods (all modern conveniences including cell/mobiles), beauty shops, children's shop, a kids okay centre ( top floor) and lots and lots of clothes shops (with only a few people in them as far as I can see). Food outlets are on the third floor and include the usual franchises like BK and KFC. Poor choices really. No non-meat, vegan meals are available in any places, even the coffee shop - so that's bad all round. There is seating to eat. Toilets are on every floor, very well attended and maintained. Security seems to successfully keep out 'undesirables' from the Centre. Worth a visit if you are looking to do a bit of strolling...

This is an okay mall to visit. It has nice for options on the 3rd including Burger King and Pizza Hut. There are many nice clothing boutiques and quality shops for those looking for specifics. My biggest issue with the mall of that you really have to get there early in the day, before 4pm because after that time the mall is a mess. After 4 the shops have had the mass of humanity rifling through the clothes that would make one think there was a zombis apocalypse. By going early in the day, around noon, my party was able to calmly walk around the mall with incident.
