I recently visited Idriss Arab Elegant Restaurant with my family, and it was the worst dining experience we’ve had in Morocco. While I wasn't expecting much from the hygiene or the state of the toilets, given that it’s a local restaurant, I did expect the food to match the restaurant's fame and high prices. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
We ordered food for the whole family, and after waiting for around 30 minutes, the first dish—a paella—arrived. The presentation was questionable, but the real issue was the taste: the rice was clearly reheated, lacked any flavor, and the portion was disappointingly small.
After waiting an additional 20 minutes without receiving the rest of our order, our kids were tired and hungry, and the heat only added to our discomfort. We noticed other diners, who arrived much later, being served before us. This prompted us to speak to our waiter, who was apologetic and only charged us for the water and the paella.
However, our encounter with the owner was unpleasant. He was condescending, rude, and started shouting, making an already bad experience even worse.
I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The other reviews seem to reflect similar negative...
Read moreThe waiting time was astonishingly awful ( for a good reason the restaurant was packed) if my previous statement is a big deal for you don't visit. Waiting for that long can be really annoying but the food once delivered totally makes up for it ( at least in my experience). I also liked How Mr Driss was actually supervising the work of the waiters and checking on customers' needs and ofc reassuring some of them that their food was actually coming( the ones who kept complaining). High demand means high quality ( not always but it's true in this case). I think the owner can do more to address this very apparent issue. Other than that. Everything else makes the restaurant 10/10. The waiters, too, very friendly and attentive. A must...
Read moreFood was mediocre and not generous for Moroccan cuisine quality. Most of my family got food poisoned after the meal. The bread was dry and old. The fried fish was OK, the shrimp pil pil was good but the quantity was miniscule. The paella is old and nothing like a typical pan paella. The boiled shrimp was not fresh nor tasty. The bathroom was dirty in a super clean city. Overall, we got here based on an old recommendation, maybe before, it used to be good but in our visit we were...
