Long regarded as one of the top restaurants in Asilah, you cannot go wrong by choosing to eat at Casa García. Most people have fish, but pastas, soups and delicious desserts are also on the menu. I love the marinated anchovies.
Thirty years ago I was taken here for lunch by friends when the restaurant was located on the main road across from the port. We usually sat outside on tables facing the ocean as it tended to get very crowded and noisy inside.
Service is usually prompt. Casa García has polite and efficient waiters.
Five years ago when my brother flew over the Atlantic for a two-month visit and extensive travels throughout the south of Morocco, we both agreed that we ate our best meal in Morocco on the covered terrace at Casa García in Asilah.
Again, in September 2022, my brother returned to Morocco for another two-month trip in the far south of Morocco, including Dakhla and Taroudant, among half a dozen other places. Before we began the travels, we were eager to return to Casa García for lunch. We were pleased with the entire lunch: marinated anchovies, soupe de poisson, and our grilled fishes that were accompanied with crispy French fries and slightly al dente baby carrots and green beans.
Our warmed fresh bread was accompanied with a spreadable garlic-butter, Spanish style tomato purée and there were delicious olives.
The total bill was just 315 Dirhams and we left a generous tip for our waiter. We drank bottled waters.
I returned again in 2024 with my identical twin brother for yet another memorable lunch. Sadly he died six months later after an accident in America. In late-September 2025, I returned for a paella lunch with a friend from Tangier, and we toasted the memory of my dear and much missed twin brother.
Casa García is always popular with locals and tourists. It is not required that you make reservations, but my advice is be sure to reserve a day in advance during the busy summer months of July and August, when Asilah is crowded with thousands of tourists.
Beers and imported and domestic wines are available. Debit and credit cards are accepted.
I prefer to eat on the covered terrace, which is cooler and quieter...
Read moreI've been a client of this restaurant for the last 10 years. I always appreciate the food and service! For the last 4 years the quality and service have been going down. My last experience was the worst I ever had. The waiter was totally unprofessional, and let us wait 45min just to get the drinks. When I received my first meal , the food was cold, and the portion of the side(French fries) was ridiculous. When I asked the waiter why , he told me that I probably ate some fries from it. What a shame! That's how they treat their client , treating them of liers for French fries. The paella was decent but got worst comparing to other years. The calamari was oily and had no freshness . If you wanna save your money and enjoy some good food and good service, please avoid this place. The real Casa Garcia...
Read moreWe came around lunch time and it was very crowded. I'm not from the area but I could tell that it's a popular restaurant. The service was lacking they should hire more servers since they get this busy. The food was 10/10. The anchovy in vinegar was something new to me and was soooo good and refreshing. The fish soup was well balanced. The paella was good but I've had better. I ordered some lemon to squeeze on top since it doesn't come with it. We choose a fish and they grilled it beautifully and brought it with a side of fries and roasted vegetables. Would recommend but don't come in...
