We were looking for a place to eat and came across this absolute gem of a place. Since being in Morocco, Marrakesh to be precise we’ve been quite disappointed with the food because the places we’ve tried have lacked in flavour so I didn’t have high hopes, just wanted to eat somewhere. We travelled from Marrakesh to Essaouira, we heard from people that it’s known for its seafood so that’s exactly what we ordered. We ordered the shrimps/prawns and the monkfish dish, both were absolutely delicious, cooked and seasoned to perfection, even the salad was really good, it went well with the dishes. The menu is small but still has a good selection of dishes, the quality of the food is excellent. Service was great from both waiter and chef -Chef is welcoming, attentive and talented! Restaurant is nice and clean too. Definitely visit...
Read moreExcellent from the beginning to the end! We wanted to have some local Moroccan cooking classes, and while walking into Medina, we saw their banner. We called and booked, and we were kindly waited for at the restaurant to start the class. We walked through the market and bought the fresh ingredients—spices, meat, vegetables, bread, etc. Marouane explained to us about the places, the locals, the shop, and his life in Essaouira and walked us through the fish market, and then we headed back to the restaurant. We cooked excellent, delicious food—a four-plus-course meal under the attentive supervision of Marouane, who kindly explained to us all the steps and allowed us to cook. His colleagues were also very kind, and the atmosphere was very welcoming, so we will go back for our last meal in Essaouira again! Thank you...
Read moreStumbled upon Marouane's cooking class by chance when we were walking in the Medina, and so glad we did because it was a highlight of the trip. We were greeted by his warm smile, then he took us to the market to buy our own ingredients, explaining the history of Essaouira on the way. We went to an inserting spice shop where we smelled the different kinds of spices. Then we bought our veggie and protein and headed to the kitchen. Then Marouane showed us how to make some of the most famous Moroccan dishes. We made 6 different dishes which was great because we got to taste everything. We finally tasted them and finished it off with Moroccan mint tea and desserts. Definitely recommend going to this cooking class...
