Chez Fred — Restaurant in Maputo

SOOOOO MANY RULES!!!! Not a nice experience to be lectured on computer ethics in public spaces by the owner. Wow, I just want to sit down, have something to eat, have something to drink, and check my emails after being on the road for 4 hours. Told me I could sit outside with my device, but it was waaay too hot and sunny out there. Can't I sit inside, with all the other patrons in the nice cool air-conditioned space??? Was soo sad to have this experience as I was very excited to have found them open again after COVID. It used to be my favorite spot in Maputo....not so much anymore. 😢😢 I'll find somewhere that doesn't mind me being productive. Im here to work lady...not...

Nice ambiance, friendly staff. But serving Lavazza coffee. If you don't really care about what your coffee is, as long as it's a brown liquid then you won't be disappointed.

Edit to reply to CF: My complaint is you have a great place and good food and are creating a higher class ambience with attention to detail and good service. And then you serve Lavazza coffee which is a generic coffee brand I can buy anywhere. You have the stage to showcase some amazing coffees from Mozambique or Tanzania for example which are world class specialty coffees. Excellent service and a vibe that’s always on point. I’ve been here countless times since 2022, and it never disappoints.
