Lugar e Meio — Restaurant in Maputo

My partner and I went to dine here on Valentine’s Day 2024 . It was our first time in Mozambique and we wanted to try local cuisine. The menu is 90% Portuguese but the sweetest lady that works at the restaurant I think her name is Michelle/ Marcia / Marcila was so kind and helpful to us. She gave us a beautiful experience at our first time in Maputo which we will never forget and great recommendations about the area . The following day morning we wanted to come back for breakfast and leave a proper tip but the restaurant had not opened. Thank you for that Lady M and well done to this restaurant for hiring such lovely people.

The food : 8/10 Service: 10/10 Cleanliness and atmosphere :10/10 Parking: street parking but safe

I’ll definitely come back to the restaurant some day when we visit...

Food is good but not exceptional, their side dishes and desserts are very poor.

When asked for a side of vegetables, instead of the typical rice or chips, got a plate with a couple of cabbage strips and mushroom slices...(?) Was super disappointed.

The dessert wasn't great, the apple crumble flavors were too strong, almost like drinking pure liquor and served in a small juice glass like, difficult to eat.

This was my second time going there and not eager to go back. First time had a tuna and it was also dry.

Food is extremely overpriced for the quality, quantity and presentation. You can definitely get better bites for less.

Cocktails and natural juices are the only good thing there unfortunately...

On a afternoon walk around the hood, I spotted the place, and having read some good reviews decided to reserve a table for later that evening. The head lady in charge of front of house was just incredible, from her welcoming manner to the effecient service, so was all the other staff . The owners of this place should treat them like gold, they are an asset to any business. Cuisine was a fusion of African and Portuguese flavours with a Asian twist.
