The first thing I noticed was how clean restaurant was compared to many other restaurants in Nepal. The interior is bright yet kept very clean and neat.
The kitchen is half-open there's a huge acrylic glass that separates kitchen from the dining area and you are able to see the kitchen and what is going on at all times.
I just can't stop mentioning how clean and neat this place is.
It's not one of those dark 'restaurants' where many Nepali guys take their girlfriends to have a little kissing time, no. This truly seems like a nice place to have a decent meal with family and friends.
Two things I didn't like about this place were...
The location of the restroom. It's weirdly positioned.... In he middle of the restaurant and there are no doors.
Soft drink is served already opened and poured in glass. Drinks should never be opened away from the table.. and should be served in it's original container, along with cups if server feels it is necessary.
The place is kept very clean. The price seems reasonable. The server seems nice, like everywhere else in Nepal, but doesn't seem professional.. also like everywhere else in Nepal. Food seems thoroughly cooked Food takes reasonable amount of time to be served(didn't have to wait very long). Food was delicious, but the vegetable side dish seemed overcooked. The cauli flowers were almost creamy when chewed and rice also seemed like it could have been made better..
I gave this place 4 stars but I would rate it 3.5 out of 5. Very good but could have...
Read moreThumps up to the food served. Liked everything, recommend the nepali thali. Didnt get to taste the non veg items but surely would come back for more. My favourite restaurant in Kathmandu for many years. Good place to go with kids too. Friendly staff and tasty food. It was definitely some of the better Nepali food I've tried in the area, but I wouldn't call it exceptional. A good, safe place for westerners to get traditional food though! Thali. The food is prepared fresh and it is very delicious. I ate the food until I had the feeling of no more space in my stomach. The quality and quantity of food were both excellent. The price was very reasonable too. 4 non veg thalis for 4 people came up to less than 1200 NPR . I am definitely going to this...
Read moreThe space is quite large, so no worries if you are going there in large group. Thakali Thali is average. The most annoying thing is service, guys don't turn up after yelling out multiple times for addition of dishes. I had to literally get up twice while eating to request them to add Rice, dal, saag etc. When I asked for a dry papad they didn't get it and when I asked why didn't the papad come, they said it's not free. I requested them to get one for which I will pay, but still they didn't get it. It was an embarrassing...
