Mehmaan Pahuna in Jhamsikhel delivers on both food and hospitality. The owner is welcoming, and the service matches the warmth. The food leans toward true Indian authenticity, something that’s not always easy to find. The biryani stood out—aromatic, well-spiced, with tender meat that didn’t dry out. Each grain of rice stayed separate, packed with flavor without being overly greasy. The Afghani naan had just the right balance of softness and chew, carrying that subtle sweetness that makes it different from a regular naan. Perfect for scooping up the rich gravies. The meat platter was a highlight. Juicy, well-marinated, and grilled just right. No dryness, no overpowering spice, just balanced flavors that let the quality of the meat shine. Ended with a masala tea that wrapped everything up nicely—strong, fragrant, with just the right hit of spice. Easily one of the best Indian meals in Nepal. Worth coming back for.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, both in terms of food and hospitality. I got the Punjabi Murg Thali and a papadi chat to share with my wife. The Thali is an opulent affair, a delicious medley of flavors exhibited via 12 items on the platter which you get to chow down with 3 types of bread and a bowl of rice. Getting it all down was a bit of a challenge, but it's a good dish to try if you're two hungry folks looking for decent Indian food. The papadi chat was also good, maybe a little heavy on the masala? But that's subjective. Overall, great food and experience. The owner was very courteous and spent some time chatting with us and made us feel comfortable.

Good place to enjoy and be with family and friends. The whole and soul of the place give good vibes and make you feel comfortable. The atmosphere and vibes are 👍🏾 and, on top of the hospitality, is nc. The problem comes in when we speak about consistency as the staff keeps on moving, the owner of the place is so sound with knowledge(it is so hard to have so many personalities at the same time) about F&B. The movement of staff I feel is taking a toll . I believe this place has potential and needs continuous loyal turnover and word of mouth(which I am in, too, for this place). Overall, we must visit for experience indian taste buds and enjoy hospitality.

We had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we were well taken care of. The ambiance was inviting and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing meal. We ordered the Sabzi Punjabi Thali and Murgh Punjabi Thali, and both were served in generous portions. The flavors were authentic and delicious, making each bite a delight. The crispy Aloo Kurkure was a standout, adding a perfect crunch to our meal. Mehamaan is a great place to enjoy a hearty and flavorful meal. Highly recommended!

When I first heard about this place, I was curious about this punjabi thali. I have seen indian foodpage where the blogger would try thalis like this. The thali was enough for two people. One of the best thing I liked about this thali is their variety. This is a must try place if you are around Jhamsikhel. This thali includes 3 different types of roti, lachha parantha butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, dal makhani, pindi chole, jeera aloo, raita, chicken cutlet, jeera rice, gud ko haluwa and papad.

If you really want to have some good Indian food with different taste then this is the right place for you. I really loved this place, everyone was so friendly and guided us about different food, that was really helpful. Also, the food here taste amazing. It's all freshly prepared and we can feel it when we taste. We ordered some chicken samosa, chicken kebab which is a must try. Don't miss Aam panna when you are here. And the there most famous dish here is Punjabi thali, which is highly recommended.
