Mehmaan Pahuna in Jhamsikhel delivers on both food and hospitality. The owner is welcoming, and the service matches the warmth. The food leans toward true Indian authenticity, something that’s not always easy to find. The biryani stood out—aromatic, well-spiced, with tender meat that didn’t dry out. Each grain of rice stayed separate, packed with flavor without being overly greasy. The Afghani naan had just the right balance of softness and chew, carrying that subtle sweetness that makes it different from a regular naan. Perfect for scooping up the rich gravies. The meat platter was a highlight. Juicy, well-marinated, and grilled just right. No dryness, no overpowering spice, just balanced flavors that let the quality of the meat shine. Ended with a masala tea that wrapped everything up nicely—strong, fragrant, with just the right hit of spice. Easily one of the best Indian meals in Nepal. Worth coming back for.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant, both in terms of food and hospitality. I got the Punjabi Murg Thali and a papadi chat to share with my wife. The Thali is an opulent affair, a delicious medley of flavors exhibited via 12 items on the platter which you get to chow down with 3 types of bread and a bowl of rice. Getting it all down was a bit of a challenge, but it's a good dish to try if you're two hungry folks looking for decent Indian food. The papadi chat was also good, maybe a little heavy on the masala? But that's subjective. Overall, great food and experience. The owner was very courteous and spent some time chatting with us and made us feel comfortable.

Good place to enjoy and be with family and friends. The whole and soul of the place give good vibes and make you feel comfortable. The atmosphere and vibes are 👍🏾 and, on top of the hospitality, is nc. The problem comes in when we speak about consistency as the staff keeps on moving, the owner of the place is so sound with knowledge(it is so hard to have so many personalities at the same time) about F&B. The movement of staff I feel is taking a toll . I believe this place has potential and needs continuous loyal turnover and word of mouth(which I am in, too, for this place). Overall, we must visit for experience indian taste buds and enjoy hospitality.

Food Review: Mehmaan Punjabi Restaurant, Sanepa, Lalitpur

Mehmaan Punjabi Restaurant in Sanepa, Lalitpur, is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Punjabi cuisine. Our recent family dinner here was nothing short of extraordinary, leaving us with unforgettable memories and satisfied taste buds.

Ambiance: The restaurant has a warm and welcoming vibe, with traditional Punjabi decor that adds to the cultural experience. The seating is comfortable, making it perfect for family gatherings or casual dinners. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Food: The food at Mehmaan is where the magic truly happens. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity. Here’s a breakdown of what we had:

Kurkure: We started with this crispy, spicy snack, which was the perfect appetizer to kick off the meal. It was light, flavorful, and had just the right amount of crunch.

Naan: The naan was freshly baked in a tandoor, soft and fluffy with a slight char that added a smoky flavor. It paired perfectly with the rich gravies.

Biryani: The biryani was a standout dish—fragrant, perfectly spiced, and loaded with tender pieces of meat. Each bite was a delightful mix of aromatic rice and flavorful spices.

Tandoori: The tandoori dishes were cooked to perfection—juicy, smoky, and marinated with a blend of spices that left us wanting more. The charred edges added a delightful texture.

Masala Tea: We ended our meal with masala tea, which was the perfect conclusion. It was rich, aromatic, and had just the right balance of spices to soothe the palate.

Overall Experience: Mehmaan Punjabi Restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The food was outstandingly amazing, and the portions were generous. The combination of authentic flavors, cozy ambiance, and excellent service made it a memorable dining experience for our family. If you’re in Lalitpur and craving Punjabi cuisine, Mehmaan is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

Your hospitality was fantastic...offer us some previelage card and offer discounts. we want to come again and...

Food was tasteless and worst we had in kathmandu or we can say till date..service was pathetic,no other customers were there so atmosphere was just silent and boring.. We asked for onions, they said we dont have onions, its out of stock..which restaurant doesnot have onions??it was unbelievable..poor restaurant

As a reply of your comment mr.manager How pathetic you are..we could have asked but we knew we will get the same thing again because nothing was good..also Yes we asked for discount but u said discount is if ur bill was 3k-4k or more and our bill was more than 3k+ but u changed your own words..and after all this nonsense would you like to say anything about your finished onions..there was no onion in your restaurant to serve with food..you said onion is finished we dont have,we have fresh vineger onion and that was smelling you green chatney was way too sour it as it was not fresh, since there was no customer in your restaurant how can it be fresh..definetly u will serve old food..and try to respect your customers feedback..when we politely said your food is not good you were like no no its is good..let the customers decide not the managers..thanks...

Worst experience as they served chicken in place of paneer for a pure vegetarian guest of mine. I had vegetarian guests from USA and I wanted them to taste Punjabi thali and Ala Carte stuffs but the restaurant was super careless in mixing chicken in the paneer in two separate dishes. And the owner wasn't even sorry for that when I complained. So strictly NO place for veggies and poor customer service with low and inexperienced staffs on the floor.

Below is in response to what you have replied back to me -

Since google doesn't allow replying back I am just editing my comment here. You are being smart by not admitting your mistake. I know you are the owner. I have been their multiple times. No doubt your food is really good thats why I kept coming back. Only concern is how you handled the situation. In future whenever this type of mistake happens from staff simply apologize, dont defend - thats the best customer service. Provided the quality of food you guys serve, I think you guys can do much better business. Good Luck. I aint coming back...
