Would give ZERO if I could, esp for service… this was an ABSOLUTE waste of $200+ and half our day. Service was absolutely abysmal it was shocking. I couldn’t be more upset with this place.

We were so excited because this place came highly recommended so we booked a front row cabana. We were told the cabana came complimentary with two bottles of water and a couple of drinks, it was over 30 minutes before someone finally came to offer the water. Wanted to pace ourselves we asked for just 1, for now. We kept wanting to order food and drinks but for the next two hours, the service literally forgot about us because no one came to us at all. Every other cabana and chair near us got serviced (slowly but surely) while we couldn’t get their attention for just water. At one point we finally got someone and ordered a couple drinks but after 30 minutes we asked where they were, and were told it was accidentally given to another group. 20 minutes later it still didn’t come. When I finally went up to the bar and spoke up, they said it was given to the wrong group again. I ordered some desserts right then (we were hungry for food but already lost our appetite for a meal after the long wait but it was so hot we wanted ice cream) ANOTHER 15ish minutes later, someone came by to tell us that what we wanted was out. At that point we were so over it, we packed up left.

Oh and did I mention we were left roasting in the sun because it wasn’t until an hour and half into our time there that service told us there were umbrellas we could use? Yeah. ABSOLUTELY NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

EDITED FOLLOWING OWNER RESPONSE: thank you for your response but it seems you may have been a bit misinformed about the service your staff provided as it underplays the service we actually received.

-we were only in the water for about 30-40 minutes because we were tired of waiting for someone to come take our order and wanted to finally get into the water to have fun. -we only received the first bottle of water because after we came back from the beach, we had to wave someone serving past us. We were going to get the second bottle when our third member of our party arrived but it took so long. -when the server came to tell us the kitchen was closing we were upset because 1- we were originally told it would close around 6 (it was still 3ish I believe) 2- no one ever came for our orders to begin with the menu was placed for us and we asked for the complimentary Bellini’s then. When he was supposed to be back with the drinks we were going to order our food. -the Bellinis were delivered to the group behind us. And as you said, while it may have made them happy I don’t think is the positive point you may have intended it to be because we were quite upset about it. It was quite literally all we had ordered other than our water. 20 minutes after we were told it was given to the wrong group, I got tired and annoyed and was heading to the bar when the server realize we STILL did not have our drinks and went to inform the bar but I chose to follow him to the bar and complain. There I ordered two ice creams. 10 minutes later someone came by to tell us one of the ice cream flavors was out and I was so fed up I canceled the entire order. -then and only then did we get our drinks.

In summary, while we visit the island often (this was our 4th time), I can assure you, we will...

This place was AWESOME!! It’s located in Mullet Bay Beach which is a very popular place for the locals. They’re open about 1 year and they have a very lively French Caribbean vibe. The best part was our waitress Juanly who single handedly filleted a red snapper even though they serve it whole.

Talk about thinking customer first! She also served all 16 of us and had an outgoing personality. She absolutely understands what great customer service looks like, praised management for showing that they really care about their workers and was truly excited when speaking about her customers and regulars cliental she has developed.

They have a wide selection of food and everything was fresh and tasty. They have appetizers, salads, steaks, chicken, fish, a nice selection of wines and drinks from the bar.

We ordered several appetizers, salads, main courses and deserts. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. There is no embargo on anything from Venezuela so we had 25 year old rum which went great with Cuban cigars.

You’re right on the beach and can swim, jet ski, take in the sun, sit in a lounge chair under an umbrella and do many water activities right there as well. The only drawback is the parking. It’s tough and you usually have to use the shuttle. They have a golf cart to you from the parking areas.

Overall great experience, super relaxing, I highly recommend them and will be back at least once before my...

Kalatua, nestled along the shores of Nettle Bay in Saint Martin, is a true paradise for food lovers and beachgoers alike. This chic beachfront spot offers an unbeatable combination of gourmet cuisine, stunning views, and a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe.

The setting is simply breathtaking. With its boho-chic decor, soft sand underfoot, and views of the turquoise Caribbean waters, Kalatua exudes island elegance. Whether you’re lounging on their cozy daybeds or dining at their open-air tables, the ambiance is perfect for a memorable meal or a lazy day by the sea.

The menu is a delightful mix of Mediterranean-inspired dishes and local flavors. From fresh seafood like tuna tartare and grilled octopus to their perfectly executed pastas and refreshing salads, every dish is beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Their cocktail selection is equally impressive—be sure to try one of their signature creations while soaking in the beach views.

The service is attentive and warm, making you feel like a valued guest from the moment you arrive. Whether you’re visiting for lunch, sunset drinks, or a romantic dinner, Kalatua delivers an exceptional experience. It’s a must-visit destination in Saint Martin, offering the perfect blend of luxury and laid-back island vibes. Highly...

For context: I'm a cruise ship DJ and have been to many, many beaches at many many resorts. This so far - is one of the top if not the top one I've visited. For real 100%. I LEGIT stumbled into this while walking from Maho Bay to Mullett Bay and couldn't be happier. When you go to most beaches/resorts and pay $30/$40 a set of chairs and an umbrella - that's all you get. The details here are what make this place different. 1) all chairs have pads and come with towels - that's SO rare to find in the Caribbean. 2) The umbrella has hooks. You don't know what you're missing till you have them and can hang a bag, purse, shirt or hat. 3) The umbrella pole has a mini-cooler/ashtray/cup holder on the bottom. That's INSANELY clutch. 4) Between the chairs (the rows) they have wood flooring laid out - which makes it easier to walk back and forth from the chair to the beach and their club. I've NOT seen this anywhere I've traveled so far. For older people it's the bee's knees. 5) They have water sports next door to them (snorkel, tubing, etc). 6) Incredible white sand. 7) Limited access = limited crowds. The burger I had may be one of the best I've tasted in awhile too. I'm 10000000% coming back here.
