The Jollof Place — Restaurant in Almere

We came to Jollof Place on a Tuesday evening around 6 PM with a group of eight people, and we were truly welcomed with open arms. The staff is extremely friendly, we were really well taken care of. The lady who helped us (I think she was the owner) was super sweet, helped us choose from the menu, and was happy to have a little chat as well. Honestly, a 10/10 for customer service.

The starters were nice: authentic African bites, fun to try and something you really don’t find anywhere else in Almere. Then the main dish: absolutely delicious. The Jollof rice was full of flavor, and the fried plantain was amazing too. The only thing was the goat meat, it was a little tough. I’m not sure if it was a muscle, but the flavor was fantastic.

You definitely get a lot of fresh food for the price, and the interior is beautifully decorated in full African style. It makes you feel welcome and comfortable, like you’ve stepped into another world for a moment. And the music, Afro beats that match the whole vibe perfectly.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for something different and flavorful in Almere especially great...

Food was surprisingly good. The Tilapia was very big it can be shared by two. Love the plantains! The choices on their menu seems limited, it is different than in store. We liked everything we ordered. This is surely worth a visit when in Almere. It deserves more recognition. We ordered online and came 20mins earlier than pick up time but the food was ready and when we came home everything was still very hot. They're in plastic containers though which is not good when putting very hot food. I suggest to eat in. It's my first time to actually eat african dish, I have tried their street food when in Germany and I will definitely try other African restos when we get back home. It was just a short stay in Almere, but the Jollof Place surely is one of the highlights...
