Restaurant Marimba — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Don’t go here. First things first, I ordered a strawberry mojito, it tasted like strawberry lemonade from the supermarket with 0% alcohol inside, I almost never drink alcohol so will feel ‘tipsy’ after a cocktail, but there was no alcohol inside, so I paid €8 for a strawberry lemonade. Waiting a long time on the food, nacho’s were a very small portion with a couple pieces of chicken on top, the nacho’s themselves were chewy and were 15 pieces of nacho’s for €18,50. You almost pay more than €1 per nacho chip and bad toppings from Albert Heijn. I got the filete Marimba as ‘main course’, I asked for medium rare, the meat on the inside was as good as rare, but the outside was burned and it also tasted burned. I don’t know what was wrong with the ‘cheese sauce’ next to it but it didn’t taste good at all. The ‘salad’ next to it was a half slice of cucumber, a half slice of tomato, a little piece of radish, a couple leaves of lettuce and a lot of cream cheese. It didn’t make sense AT ALL. My boyfriend got the Pollo a la Parilla. Same story about the meat, chicken was not particularly dry nor good, but also the outside was burned and tasted like this. Also he had the same bad salad next to it. Sauce was watery and didn’t have any flavour at all. At the end I payed €82,40. I never saw a price/quality like this and I am very sad I paid this money to this restaurant and I regret all of it. We ate at many other restaurants where I paid the same price OR LESS, where I get more food and better food. I hope this place closes...

Terrible place. The food is on par with what you can get at Taco Bell but outrageously overpriced. The service is abysmal; we were served three drinks we didn't order, and despite notifying the waitress that these were not our orders, all three drinks still appeared on our bill. Even after reiterating that we didn't order the drinks multiple times, they only removed one from the bill and insisted on charging us for the others. When the manager finally came over, we had to explain for the fifth time that we didn't order the drinks, and the manager's attitude was far from friendly. If you decide to dine at this Mexican restaurant, don't expect much in terms of food quality, and be vigilant with your bill because you might end up being charged for items you...

We had a good night eating here. As a starter we shared the mushrooms, nachos, and the filled jalapenos. The starters were a great hit. For main I had the flauta with veggies and that was a bit boring. I am always a bit disappointed when I think I could have made it better at home. This dish was a rolled tortilla filled with carrot and broccoli in a simple sauce, nothing exciting. My friend had the beef burrito and did think that had more flavor.
