Café Thijs — Restaurant in Amstelveen

A pleasant, cozy bar with a staff of friendly Bier Ambassadeur. It's hard to describe just how friendly and welcome we felt.

We loved the atmosphere. Our visits felt more like meeting with new friends than just stopping in a bar for drinks. Giovanni was knowledgable about beers and steered me towards beers that I enjoyed very much. They have snacks, wine, and mixed drinks in addition to beer. My partner was really happy with her cocktails.

The pictures don’t do this place justice! A cool neighbor hood bar in a quiet part of the south of Amsterdam - if you have to stay near the airport, get a bike & make the 11’ ride to here! This bar has a lot of history and is a local favorite. Great outdoor seating and a few amazing high end restaurants just around the corner. Instantly fell in love with the barkeeper as he guided me through all the sorts of beer they offer. Who cares about a wine tasting if you can have a premium plus beer tasting.
