I was absolutely shocked and disappointed when the staff didn’t let us have a table outside with kids who were eating ice-cream which we bought elsewhere, the manager behaved rudely, clearly mocking. I will note that there were no other people willing to sit outside, and our explanations that we were going to make a good order were not heard. A place where customers are clearly not respected
P.S. I have added this review to respond to the comment below. Dear Gusto, if I was so aggressive as you write, maybe you should contact to the police? Very funny. The problem is that you are not ready to admit that the policy in your place discriminates against children, which is confirmed by many of the reviews below. Good places are flexible towards children and do not make a problem out of six-year-olds who eat their ice cream in five minutes. Your manager is arrogant, she did not say a single polite word to resolve the situation, but was rude, disdainful and mocking, which certainly caused irritation. The situation that occurred upset me so much that I worked through it with a psychotherapist. I think maybe I should send you the conclusion of the psychotherapist, how much mental trauma I was traumatized by...
Read moreI rarely give one-star reviews, but the service at this establishment was exceptionally disappointing. The waitress was extremely rude. On a previous visit, the drinks were served with an air of arrogance, but this time, the experience was entirely unacceptable.
We ordered food and drinks, but our baby didn’t like the pizza we had ordered for her, likely due to the burnt, bitter edges (photo attached). As a result, we gave her some chicken drumsticks we had picked up from the Korean restaurant next door. The waitress approached us and told us that outside food wasn’t allowed. We explained our situation politely and apologized, asking for her understanding since it was just for the baby. We assured her we would be discreet.
However, just five minutes later, she returned with an attitude, saying, “I told you, and you're not listening,” in a very condescending manner, giving us a look that clearly implied we should leave. This was the first time in the Netherlands we’ve experienced such poor treatment, especially while dining...
Read moreI am updating this review based on the laughable, rude, judgemental, non-diverse and quite honestly racist response below. I was expecting a defensive and arrogant response, and you delivered. Thank you for proving my feelings and opinion right.
Nice pizza, but really shockingly poor and rude service. We have come back many times, due to the nice location and nice pizza, but keep getting reminded why we should have not given Gusto any more chances. There are specific waitresses that seem to have an issue with serving, a key element of their job. Anyway, we won’t be returning. Normal requests of customers, especially international ones, are not respected, and do not speak on the phone in the restaurant. Lucky they have found a niche in Amstelveen but such service would not survive, I would hope, in different more competitive locations. No more specifics needed and I do expect a defensive comment to come from...
