Came here because I wanted away from my abusive house situation, so I could use some food and decent HUMAN interaction. Barista guy was initially really nice, even charged my Airpods. I ordered eggs benedict as I havenât had breakfast, but I missed that there was ham on them. When he came to bring my breakfast over, I said I must have missed that, but that I donât eat meat. He was nice and said: ah, okay, no problem, weâll fix it. I apologised and he took it away.
Then another worker (brown hair, glasses, tall) immediately came to me with the exact same plate. She stood before me, and seemed lost: I clarified that her co-worker already brought the eggs benedict to me and that I already told him I donât eat meat. She kept asking: âNo, did you order this with the QR-code?â I was confused: was she angry I was seated at a table without a QR-code and that I ordered through another tableâŠ? So I cautiously replied: âYesâŠ?â And she then went on to say that âitâs not their faultâ, because the menu said it had ham on it.
At this point I was confused to what she was trying to convey, as her co-worker had said they could easily take care of it. So⊠was she trying to make sure I wasnât angry at them? I explained to her that I already told her co-worker that I probably just hadnât read that part, to which she kept angrily vent at me about how I could have somehow and that âitâs not their faultâ.
I was very weirded out since I already had said it was because of me⊠like if you donât want to take ham off the toast for me and want me to do it myself, this is a bizarre way to make that clear? Like, I just paid âŹ15 for eggs on toast and a bit nice energy, while you get like about as much to be there an hour⊠be a bit kind or just donât work in horeca. I say this as someone who is a barista themselves and the girl really has no heart for the game.
Her rude conduct made me very uncomfortable and I asked her what her point was. I didnât understand why she was trying to pick a fight with me, as I already said I hadnât properly read the menu myself. She rolled her eyes and said she wasnât picking a fight with me, and then muttered real annoyed to herself that she would take care of itâŠ?
Again, the barista guy comes back to me and asks if I wanted something else or really just the same thing without ham. So I say, I really just donât want the ham, I donât need anything else or to see the menu, I even apologised yet again. It was obviously easily fixed after that, but the girl didnât even apologise for her behaviour to me or anything⊠Some people have real problems and donât need some international studentâs baggage dropped on them at the coffee bar! đ I didnât even feel safe enough to get up, I was just...
Read moreI come here often as I like the atmosphere inside and sometimes to work here.
However, the place is overpriced for the quality. Here I had the worst Matcha ever (tastes fishy), and I gave it a chance another time and the same, same for my friend who are Matcha lovers, definitely the worst Matcha here.
In rest the coffees are overpriced and do not deliver. Most of the times they are very sweet, can sense the syroup, also the lemonades tastes artificial, which they are as they use sirop and do not make them themselves.
When I gave feedback that my coffee was extremely sweet, which it was, and I wanted to buy a lemonade to balance it, the staff was mocking, laughing arrogantly despite me being very polite and did not make a big deal or anything, but they did.
Then they proceeded to make me a different lemonade then the one I ordered and paid for, which my friend picked up, and when my friend indicated that this was not what I ordered, the staff very rudely and arrogantly told her off mentioning like a punishment because I said the coffee was too sweet.
To note that I paid for everything.
No matter how often I come here still, the coffees are subpar, the food is okay (portions getting smaller by the year), and the staff is just unhelpful and rude no matter how nice you are to them. That is my experience and I come here since they were a little shop, before serving food, just because there is a lack of better options in the area.
But definitely would not...
Read moreI was staying in the area for a few weeks and this became one of my quick go to café.
As I was working remotely I was also evaluating if this would be a comfortable place to work from.
The food is limited but good. I'd give it about a 7.5. I've gotten their tuna sandwich and hangover eggs. It's nice if you're looking for something quick.
Their coffees are good and have a slight nutty taste that I enjoy. They have vegan options for milk (and I think food).
The establishment is self if nice from different types of chairs to couches. A friend has said the internet connection is good but I've not yet tested it out myself.
They have a few areas with sockets to charge laptops but not a awful lot so if charging is essential just know that there's a risk that the seating with sockets might be taken.
Overall staff is friendly and welcoming, she there's a comfortable vibe with good...
