Bagels & Beans — Restaurant in Amsterdam

This place was the worst bagel shop I've ever been to! We were staying at the Room Mate hotel across the street. On our last day before heading to the airport, we decided that bagels would be "fast, easy and convenient." The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and it took 20 minutes before somebody noticed us sitting outside and did us a favor by taking our order. It would be another 20 minutes before our coffee's showed up and another 20 minutes after that for our hard bagels. This was the worst way to cap off our Europe Trip and it costed us 30€. If you care about your time, money or the quality of food you eat GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Literally any other place would have been an improved experience. All of the guests seated outside were totally in awe at the poor management of this place. The charming Dutch lady seated across from us went in to grab us napkins because she felt bad that we were so hungry and didn't have any silverware once they brought out the food. Even more frustrating is people were jumping ahead of us in que because they had ordered "take out" only to grab their food and sit down at an open table. I will NEVER come back to this over priced, poorly managed and tasteless establishment. Seriously a marketing gimmick all the way down to the cute story the owner had put into the menu. Don't be foolish and take my advice, go somewhere else!! Out of the 17 days from UK, Paris, Rome, Greece this is the only review I've left cause the experience was...

The waitress was confused while taking our order. i could see she was so I made sure she understood and explained and repeat (in DUTCH) Then we got food, the tapas for 2 persons on the table.. without plates and cutlery.

The other two persons were still waiting for their tapas, so it turns out they forgot to make the other one and then they also did not give it priority (its an open kitchen and i can see).

So the other two person could not really eat and the bagels were getting cold. So i decide to get up and walk up there to get the cutlery and kindly asked whether they can hand me over some plates real quick since it’s behind the counter and somewhere I can’t reach..

10+ mins minutes the second tapas arrived And we finally got to eat.

Meanwhile in total it took over 30 mins to make the first tapas and the second over 45 mins ish from ordering to arrive on the table..

This franchise (that was also founded in Amsterdam if I'm not mistaken) is always a great choice and in this particular store you can not only enjoy the great products - you'll also get very good service and a stunning view on the old Shell tower that carries currently the name A'dam tower. And on this very sunny Sunday morning I had not only the pleasure to have the whole café to myself at 9 a.m. but also could enjoy the bass catalogue a aria from Mixers Mozart's Don Giovanni, because the put Swiss Classic Radio on. 🎼 In the afternoon they make the switch to easy digestible jazz I was told.
