I Dock — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Tonight we had drinks in the Ij DOck outside bar. Before our visit I called the bar to see if they are ok with dogs, they said its no problem. We appeared, we were immediately sent out to have our drinks and snacks on the jetee, because of the dog. We were surprised but said its ok, it wasn't too cold. We were told the bar on the 1st will take us later, if we want. And we did, because it got cold by evening, but in the bar we had a funny scene: when the waiter saw us he immediately called his supervisor to handle us. The supervisor and the manager (wow) informed us that we have to leave as the hotel has a no-dog policy (its a mops/pug BTW). no matter that we called and had it cleared beforehand that its ok to come with a dog. We were surprised but agreed to leave (like what else can you do in this situ). Guess what, we were escorted to the elevator so they can make sure we leave! Good thing they didnt call the police on us!! Again, I would like to note that we called in advance to make sure they are dog-friendly, that's how we choose restaurant. And they said they were, after discussing it internally (!!). So be aware...... Other than that; food and drinks: average level. I don't normally write comments on sites but feel one is needed here. We were told your marina is the place to stay so we rang 4 days before arriving to book but was told ring tomorrow each time. On the day of arriving I rang and was told a berth would be available for us but didn't know exactly what time as the people hadn't left yet. Upon arriving in which I might add, as from New Zealand and not knowing our way around we managed to find your dock and parked temperately on a berth to come to your office and sort out where to go and pay for 3 nights. Your manager was TOTALLY rude and we were told No Berth available and walked off. He was told we were told a berth was booked for us and he just kept walking . You are a rude discusting man and should not have the position you have. We past in the ferry later that day and saw marinas empty. Restaurant in hotel Aitana,cute harbour view,modern look with a classic,rustiek welcome vibe.very friendly & attentieve staff. Music was in the background,not too loud so we could actually have a conversation... Food was absolute perfection,fish and beef both prepaired as it should be...true enjoyment for the taste buds.I cant renember when i ate this delicious..I always order extra vegetables and I got a decent portion of it too. Higly appreciate it.. Desert made me curious...Cranberry cheese cake...I can say I am Addicted.. even ordered 1 to take away...This one is a must do...
