Service and staff very friendly and helpful. Food very mediocre. Calamari was hard and chewy unable to bite through I had to swollow the whole thing which wasn't pleasant as calamari were unbattered and 10x5 cm size. Nearly inedible. I think it was overcooked or boiled. Left most of it. Calamari ine if my favourite dishes, had in many countries with varying standards but this was the worst I have ever had! Also salad very bland. Ravioli pasta hardly cooked, couldn't pull straight bit of pasta apart, not sure it was even aldente. All veg were hard and aldente if I qas kind. Goyoza were ok and curried parsnip dish was ok but hard parsnips. Hardly anyone there ar 8pm tuesday (should have known why!) Serving staff were excellent and have only good things ro say about them. Staff asked if I was happy and so I mentioned the above, she thanked me and appreciated the feedback for the kitchens. Cool came back via server to say I was wrong!! No apology from him. Did not want any discount etc but not offered any consesions or not pay for calmari . Cook said it was cooked properly?? I believe Gorden Ramsey might have had something to say about that as well as decorating the place with it. Very disappointing as we were extremely hungry after 60km bike ride and could have eaten nearly anything. I felt sorry for the young serving staff as they did nothing wrong. Fire the chef and get someone who can actually cook. Otherwise nice place and...
Read moreAn "oasis" in the heart of Amsterdam. A breath of fresh air for me with the huge open indoor and outdoor spaces, very bright and light, wonderful view of the the trains leaving Centraal Station toward Haarlem as well as the waterway / canal toward the Ij. The cool little cycling drawbridge is pretty cool too.
The restaurant itself was very nice. I was here at "happy hour" after work, very friendly people working there. To be honest, if someone didn't say hello and greet me (not even sure if she was working there or just a guest) I probably would have left. They have Grolsch Weizen beer on tap as well as many others. I miss the Wiezen at my own bar, so that's why I stopped here.
Super friendly, young, helpful bar and wait staff. Only breakfast, lunch and bar snacks (at night) due to the Covid restrictions. It's difficult to fully ramp-up a restaurant these days IF you play by the government rules so I commend and respect them for not filling this place with people which I'm sure they could.
It was raining outside so I can only imagine how crowded the outdoor terrace would be in the sun. I look forward to many more visits since my new office is in the same...
Read moreReserved dinner for four, arrived a bit earlier and took a table on the terrace. Tried to make eye contact with the waiters about the reservation and ask if we sitting outside was ok, but they looked through us, running around (no hurt feelings). We decided to sit down and when the waitress finally noticed us, we were told off for not asking where we should sit in such a tone you use for your doggo, when she pees on the carpet. We were like, ok, they were busy, it's a warm day, we're all humans, move on. She did ask if we wanted a bigger table later, which we appreciated. We ordered steaks and a friend a starter as the main. When the dishes arrived, it was missing the sides and the starter, which we got after we finished our steaks. Another couple next to us also asked for their missing drinks and were also told off haha. Overall, the steaks were delicious, the side (fries) looked a bit like the remaining scraps of the bag, so we decided to continue with drinks in Vooges, that's literally 5 mins walk from this place. Service was friendly and quick there. I mean, there's enough places in Amsterdam to...
