Burger 'n Shake Westerpark — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Tried it when it opened, an American chain style burger joint. The burger and fries are ok. They spent money on the design, but half the time it’s impossible to tell whether it is open or closed because no care is taken to set out the outside tables consistently, and internal lighting is barely visible externally. somehow it just doesn’t seem inviting. There’s always big sacks of potato’s or cups or whatever on the floor waiting to be tidied away. The burger and fries I had were ok. But at this price they should be better (there are better burgers available very nearby). It’s not a cheap pick up and go joint, and it’s not an inviting neighbourhood eaterie. Missed opportunity. Like so many other businesses here I doubt...

Food was fine, one of the loaded fries was labeled as spicy, but so extremely spicy that I lost my taste for over a week. Idk why but have a feeling they made it extra spicy on purpose (read further in post).

Moreover: we walked into the restaurant wearing Indian jewelry (which looks a bit alternative/feminine) as guys and instantly felt very uncomfortable by the staff. Felt more like we were in a shisha lounge then a restaurant. Staff kept gossiping and laughing, looking at us etc. Guys helping us weren’t friendly and also treated our female friend weirdly.

For a place in Amsterdam (a city known for its diversity and people being themselves) this place felt very uninviting and we’ll definitely not...

Normally my go 2 place for a hallal burger but last visit there was nothing “hallal” about this place! The cashier guy was totally drugged out! To the extreme he was staring or had his eyes closed while barely communicating! There was another guy there to step in but what the hell?! If i was the owner/ co-worker and didnt have staff then just close the place for the day in stead of having this drugged out filthy guy behind the counter that ruined this place/reputation! I walked away and end up not ordering i do not trust them with my food anymore, they used to have nice staff (young boys/girls) working there...
