I can see why this restaurant has such a high rating. The food quality, quantity and price are all in the goldilock zones. The set menu prices are very reasonable.
The bouilliabasse was excellent as often restuarants over season it. The beef tartare was also good.
The lamb shank and beef short rib were huge but unfortunately both were overcooked and dry which for these fatty cuts shouldn't happen. It think the kitchen needs to look at how they can retain the moisture in those two dishes. I can tell the meat is actually good but it looks like they were held at temperature too long without being in any sauce or liquid to keep them moist.
If I was basing my review on these two mains I would have given them 3 stars.
But what redeems them was the special of the day cote de boeuf for two people. That was s amazing one of the most tasty pieces of beef I have tried in Amsterdam. This dish showed to me that the kitchen can produce great food.

The first time I had the chicken which was like a small capon over fresh vegetables with a dragon gravy (brown gravy), delicious. This time I had the seafood pasta. It is loaded with mussels, shrimp and scallops in a tasty light red sauce. The others with me all had the salmon which is a favorite for them. The tiramisu is out of this world good. The best I've ever had. The plating and presentation is that of a high end expensive restaurant. The owner Hassan also the chef is so friendly and goes above and beyond for his customers.
