I went to Club Abbey for the first time today with my 15-month-old to meet with some friends who had babies of a similar age. The space is very fun and thoughtfully designed, but the area in the back intended for younger babies is a bit chaotic. It seems that since there is more seating there, it attracts more people. Older, unsupervised children were throwing balls out of the ball pit all over the restaurant and throwing books into the ball pit where young babies were playing. As a result, we weren't able to fully enjoy the space. It would be nice if the person who greets you at the front makes the age restriction clear.
I also think there are too many chairs and tables in the back space. It seemed like every table had about five or more chairs. Since my friends and I ended up on the floor away from the chaos, we were frequently moving chairs out of the way. I can't imagine the back area is ever full with people sitting down, so maybe removing some of the tables/chairs to make room for more stroller parking would help make the entrance a bit less crowded.
It's a new space so I'm hoping these issues are just growing pains as there's a lot of potential.
The staff was lovely and it's always nice to have easy access to...
Read moreNice place for kids, this is our second visit. Only today it was weird, we left our jackets on a sofa and went to the other side of the cafe. Then the manager moved them to the table to allow other people to sit. Of course it was not a nice encounter with the people who we thought took our place. When we asked the staff, the manager said it’s the house rules (which was not written anywhere). Feels like we left the clothes in the street, anyone can move them anywhere. So apparently you need to sit next to your stuff to protect them. Also we made an order which they said was not in the system. The manager did apologize twice though. Not a very good experience, maybe it’s just today as the place is promising and the staff are...
Read moreWe had a nice time last weekend with my two daughters (ages 4.5 and 3). They absolutely loved the big pool! I was pleasantly surprised by the chocolate cake which was delicious but sadly the pancakes were disappointing. A mistake was made in my order and I was offered a refund for that excess item. The ladies working there were very nice and friendly. While the prices were a bit steep I think the location makes it so. I appreciate the initiative of creating such a family-friendly spot. I forgot our changing bag but was relieved they offered free diapers for my youngest who's potty training. Overall, a great time and we'll...
