Dear Pecorino, I am writing a review again since I cannot reply to your comment on my feedback, but wanted to include photos. Mistakes can happen, anyone can burn a pizza, this was not the problem. The problem was when my friends argued, you ''explained'' to them that they are wrong and they have the perfect pizza and my pizza is wrong. (Which still means one of us was served a product, which did not match the description.) So, since it's a Neapolitan pizza you are specializing with, I compared the pizza my friends had to the Neapolitan pizza photos I found on the internet. I included the photos of both of them. While I see there are burnt spots on the crust of the Neapolitan pizzas on the internet, they don't seem to match totally burned crust on the left side of my friend's pizza and the topping. Since you cannot trust what you see on the internet, I also consulted my colleague Antonio, who is from Naples, if the pizza was correct. He laughed and said this pizza is totally burnt. As I said, it's not a problem that the pizza was burnt, everyone makes mistakes. But a restaurant with good service would just admit to the mistake and bring the new pizza. In the end my friends and I ate the pizza as we were very hungry and we would still have to pay for it. Also, other pizzerias were full (unlike your restaurant). Fun fact: Burnt food consists of molecule known as acrylamide. If you eat too much of it, it can cause reproductive toxicity, liver damage, and cancer in animals. So, I would recommend to eat the undercooked pizza that I found on the Internet.

I recently had dinner at Il Pecorino and my experience was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. We began with a burrata served over sautéed spinaches, roasted cherry tomatoes and a slice of toasted bread. The presentation was inviting and the flavors even more so: the burrata was luxuriously creamy, pairing beautifully with the delicate bitterness of the greens and the sweetness of the tomatoes. The crunchy toast added a final touch of texture, making it a perfectly balanced starter. For the first course, I chose a classic gricia. The pasta was cooked to perfection, enveloped in a creamy, silky sauce made from cheese and a hint of black pepper. The guanciale was crisp on the outside yet meltingly tender inside, adding richness and depth to every bite. The orecchiette with cherry tomatoes and leafy greens was another highlight of the evening. The dish was vibrant both in appearance and flavor, with the pasta carrying just the right bite. The tomatoes burst with sweetness, while the greens added a pleasant freshness. Service was attentive and friendly. A special mention must go to Tanya and Andreas, the owners, whose warmth and genuine kindness made the evening truly memorable. Their hospitality added a personal touch that made us feel like welcomed guests rather than just customers. Overall Il Pecorino exceeded expectations with its authentic cuisine and heartfelt atmosphere. We already know we’ll be back here in 2027 😜

What a find! The attention to detail in the decor carries over to the food. The family that created il Pecorino has many talents. From the yummy bread and quality olive oil to the fresh, homemade Italian food created from fresh ingredients, the daily specials and regular menu are sure to delight your senses! I had a truffle ravioli with walnuts and was perfectly satisfied with the richness and depth in flavors. Not too satisfied to order dessert, though :) The prices were a bit higher than I anticipated. However, you get what you pay for at this restaurant. It's definitely a step up from the quickie place I expected to find in this area of Amsterdam. If you enjoy interior design and decor, you're definitely in for a treat. The vintage vibe created here emulates a warm home of the 60s and is inviting, intriguing, and so much fun! I'll bet you recognize some of the decor pieces from your childhood!

What happened to this place? I see many people complain about the pizza, but please let's forget about it, there are many other pizza places. What I find shocking is how much worse the menu' choices, the quality of the food, and the management became.

I ordered an orata in crosta. I guess you guys have not even seen a picture of what it should look like? They brought me an orata al cartoccio (cooked in kitchen paper), with boiled potatoes over it and a couple of cherry tomatoes for some reason. There was no crust (as to get that you need to cook it without the cartoccio, it is supposed to be crunchy, not boiled), and there were potatoes also on the bottom, under the skin???

Then as side I ordered oven potatoes, which were dry and soft (they just seemed boiled and covered in herbs). I honestly doubt they ever saw an oven.

I also had a "frittura di pesce", which included for some reason 5 shrimp heads (yes just heads - why would you fry that???).

The food (besides the fried fish) arrived 1.5 hours after we arrived there. People around us were also waiting and the restaurant was not even that busy. Nobody said sorry for that, until I complained at the end.

About prices and portions, they were the same before but at least before it was worth it. The place was great, what happened to you? I wish the pizza was...
