Mister Chen — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Order online. Dim sum was quite bad, I get that it will be behind what you can get in Asia, But this took it too far. The Wagyu dumplings tasted like horrible processed meat and I'd be interested to know what part of the cow it actually came from. The Sui Kai (fried prawn dumplings) tasted like they'd been made in a factory, frozen, shipped the the restaurant and then heated up in a deep fat fryer. They had similar taste to a party pack of frozen dim-sum that you'd get from a budget supermarket. Also on biting into it, the prawn hadn't been devained which I found a bit unsettling, though maybe that's just my personal preference. The Sushi wasn't anywhere near as bad as the Dim Sum - still bad when compared to Sushi from Japan, but by Amsterdam standards (very low standards) OK, at least surpassing the awful Sushi from Albert Heijn. The Udon Noodles were bland and underseasoned, tasting again similar to a pack of Noodle from the supermarket mixed with some generic "stir fried sauce". Please taste the food you are cooking to make sure it is seasoned correctly and that you can taste the correct balance of all the various flavour groups. This place has great customer service. I ordered UberEats tonight and the driver brought me the wrong order (actually the 2nd time this happened).The restaurant had already closed so I was super upset. I called them and the person who answered the phone was so calm and was determined to make it right. Next thing I know, she coordinated a way to have another Uber guy drop off my correct order after they had already closed. Above and beyond. Thank you! Wish it was right the first time, but they converted an angry customer into a happy one in the end. Long story short, good customer service...

I walked in 30min before closing time on a Tuesday. It was empty already. The lady at the bar was very friendly and relaxed and helped me order the ramen I was so longing for. The soup came quickly, the toppings seemed very fresh, the chicken was very tender and the ramen were 💯. The broth could have been a bit stronger, spicier, but hey they had some good soy and sambal to help me out. I never went here because it looked a bit crappy from the outside.
