The chef there is a rare talent! Bravo! Excellent taste and all dishes were prepared with love. As a cook, I was very inspired. Mediterranean cuisine here is definitely touched by a passion for fresh ingredients ; nothing we had was overdone or dry, so we felt as if the execution of these traditional Mediterranean dishes was much better than in the countries of its origin, which is a big thing to say as one of us actually comes from these areas. It felt like a Fantasy of the Mediterranean cuisine and chef's perfected version of it. Despite an advice given by a waitress to take around 3-4 small plates per person, 4 plates were enough for our dinner for two. It's because for us it's all about the taste and quality, not necessarily about the quantity. We have ordered lamb kofta, chicken with hummus, and grilled chicken breast with spinach, accompanied by smokey grilled broccoli and it really filled us up. All meals were savoury and rich, but perfectly balanced and fresh tasting, and much fun and entertainment if it comes to variety & textures. It was a true treat for our tongues ! The place has a modern, minimalist, yet cozy interior and atmosphere. The waitress seemed very professional, taking her job and guests seriously. The chef brought our meals to the table himself which was a lovely surprise, he did that maybe because we have watched him preparing our food via an open space leading to the kitchen. The chef was super polite and humble and the food made us very happy and appreciated as customers and guests.
Highly recommend and we will visit...
Read moreFood: We ordered the oyster mushroom with hummus, baba ganoush and the artichoke with a side of pitas.
Though I’m not a fan of artichoke and not the right person to judge, my friend (who loves it), loved it.
The baba ganoush had a nice smoky flavor to it with a nice drizzle of olive oil, I think a sprinkle of sea flakes on top would have completed the dish.
The star for me, was the oyster mushroom with hummus. The smokiness of the oyster mushroom, the sweetness of pomegranate and the creaminess of hummus. Beautiful!
The pitas were also nice and fluffy.
Atmosphere: Nice cozy terrace next to the street with some green around. Inside is a bit less cozy in comparison but nothing less of a nice place.
Service: The service was friendly and nice, they spoke Dutch and English. Despite the business, they still were attentive and maintained the service and friendliness - thank...
Read moreFirst time there and I can only say the best! We chose the chefs menu in order to try as much as possible and even though we were all concerned that it will not be enough and that we will be hungry afterwards, that was not the case at all! Even from the starters we could feel satisfied, and the main dishes were so fulfilling with all these tastes. I even said that yes finally a tasty dinner at Amsterdam (after all these years). As a desert we got the crème brûlée but different version and was amazing, mouthwatering and enough portion (I’m saying this because at another review they said that the desert was small). Drinks very good, and cocktails as well. Ofc I have to mention the friendly stuff and how helpful they were.
Some things for improvement: add some pillows on the chairs outside because they are too hard to sit for...
