I lived in Syria for four years, so nostalgia hit sometimes. This little spot beside my gym used to be my once-a-month cheat meal since it's just right next to it: €8.99 for a small wrap, only €2 more for a large. After the recent renovation and new owners that rule is still the same and even confirmed with one of the waiter.
When I asked why, the waiter repeated “two-euro extra.” I spoke up, and the owner quietly told the cashier in Arabic—assuming I wouldn’t understand—that the large should be €2, not €4. Then in English to me, changed his story and claimed the price had just gone up to €4, while another staff member still insisted it was €2. That’s not a mix-up; that’s inventing numbers on the spot.
I used to eat here as a student and now I'm a working full time, used to leave tips now and then as well, and I really don't care about a 2 euro.
It hurts because every Arab place I knew in Syria treated customers with honesty and generosity. Here I walked out feeling scammed and embarrassed. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t send anyone else...
Read moreA year ago, i had a review on this place as the best shawerma in Amsterdam. Today, i would say it is a low-mid-level shawerma place. After my last couple of experiences there, i have to say the quality went down on all levels. The shawrema became half the size and not close to being filled well. I basically bought bread with bits of meat for €9. In the past they had 2 option and the large one was really worth it. Moreover, the staff that is there now are very rude, one lady on the cashier is the least hospitable person ever. Frowning and talking with an attitude for no reason, customers are here to benefit your place, and pay you the bills. Rude, unprofessional, mid level food offering. Not going there again...
Read moreUnhygienic food. Very bad service. Unfriendly staff. Too expensive. Guaranteed food poisoning. Bad quality. Bad price. Used gloves but put the kebab on your dish and everything else with their gloves, the same gloves used to give you cash money and touch filthy spaces. The restaurants was very dirty, the tables and chairs were dirty. They forced me to pay by cash while others paid by card. They forgot the order of a friend. They didn't give me a fork and when I asked for it they let something fall on the ground and gave me a fork full of dirty powder or sand like stuff on it. There weren't even many customers. After us a a few others came. Avoid this place. Costed 18 euros for a kapsalon...
