MKZ — Restaurant in Amsterdam

My absolute favorite place in Amsterdam. The mere existence of this project, and the amazing people who make it, makes my heart happier and transformed my connection with the city. MKZ is not a restaurant. You are going to be served with dignity, respect, camaraderie, music and great conversations here. Regarding the food, it is cooked by volunteers, always vegan (MKZ is no place for hierarchies and supr3m4c1es such as speciesism). It is always absolutely delicious. A 3-4 course meal, made with love, compassion, fun. You wash your dishes and your faith in humanity here.

OPEN FOR TAKEAWAY ON SATURDAY

During lockdown, you can call MKZ, make a reservation of how many dishes you want, then pick up between 19:00 and 20:00. Bring your own containers for food.

The food can be paid on a donation basis, min. 5€ is advised. Any proceeds (after costs) goes to support a cause agreed by the volunteer cooks, mostly...

Excellent vegan place. it is a nonprofit run by volunteers. We went on a night when for 5 euro you get 3 course set menu. It might always be this way.

We had red lentil soup, followed by rice noodles with spinach, tofu, broccoli and peanut sauce. Very good. Dessert was chocolate dipped fruits. On Wednesdays and Fridays they offer a vegan dinner. For 5€ you get the whole menu (starter, main dish, dessert). You can have more bread if you need it of course :).
