Me and mrs are on a mission to eat a mix grill in every city and country, so when we ended up in Amsterdam we looked at a few Indian restaurants Pind Punjab looked good so we checked the negative reviews like you normally do, checked the menu online and decided to go Pind Punjab to eat. Soon as we walked in we was greeted by a very polite young lady who seated us on our table the restaurant was clean and tidy. We ordered a chicken kabab starter, mix grill for mains with a naan. We was given rice, popedom, and a little curry on the side as a appetiser. The food was really good spice levels were just right all the staff was very polite and helpful, i would definitely eat here again, as I’ve seen before from eating abroad the portions are pretty small but thats the same everywhere. I have seen some negative reviews about the staff here, the owner was really polite and so was the young lady who looked after us. Ive worked with the general public before its very hard to please everyone, specially since everyone has a different pallet. Keep up the good work, wishing you guys all the best hope to see you soon. 5*

I heard this is one of the best Indian restaurants in Netherlands so thought to give a visit.. So we went on a friday.. There were plenty of place so we got a place without reservations.. We ordered for a mixed sizzler and prawn butterfly.. Taste wise both were well.. But we had to wait 40 min before they served.. While they served the starter we ordered main course which was garlic nun and chicken madrasi.. As Indian we like spicy food so we went for chicken madrasi which was 2 level hot.. Again we waited for 40 to 45 min before they served.. The chicken madrasi was so hot it was literally so painful for us to eat it.. I never had so hot food in any Indian restaurant all over Europe neither in India also.. I don't know how the level of hotneess get decided because instead of making it tasty it made it horrible.. So we ordered kulfi which was okayish.. Though they offered to make it mild but it was already 2 hrs and we had to leave so we left.. Overall I was bit disappointed by the waiting time and the chicken madrasi .. Otherwise staffs are friendly and good..

Had deewani handi ..was very good and flavourful! [First visit] 1. Chicken 65: It was crunchy and spicy...loved it. (Recommended) 2. Paneer Jaffrazi: Was good ..a bit sweetish flavour. 3. Garlic Naan: was very filling. 4. Gulabjamuns: Very soothing. Warm and sweet. [Second Visit] We primarily ordered non vegetarian food and were not happy. First of all, the quantities are way so so less. (must be inflation) Starters: we tried chicken pakoda and Rashmi kabab. Both flavorless. Main course: Butter chicken (too sweet, not recommended) Madras Chicken (the server informed us that this is going to be spicy, it was okay ...but very flavourful recommended) Rogan Josh (loved it very much, recommended) We wanted to try Lamb Vindaloo but the server informed us many times that it is 'very, very spicy' with such horrifying expressions that we did not take it at all. Our loss maybe :( We also tried mango Lassi..not recommended...very artificial pulp. All in all, maybe wait back to go to India to try Indian food.

The very rude and racist owner was unwilling to change the food because it was too spicy for us. Then asked us to either get out or eat the food as it was. After looking at that behavior, we decided to get out but stopped by his daughter to make us pay. Why would someone ask to get out without eating but make us pay? Upon insisting, they packed the food and gave it to us. He kept using racist comments about Indians despite his coming from India. I didn't expect such racist remarks in a country where the economy thrives on tourism.

Response to the owner's response - it's a lie and a sweet cover-up that I was rude. The owner started being rude when asked what was added to the recipe to make it less spicy. They started raising their voice and asking can't you see it's different in color. They then asked us to leave the restaurant or eat it as is. I assumed I was asked to leave the food and go. Until I was asked to pay. I tried to suggest the same politely, but the owner had anger issues and started shouting racial comments, feeling unsafe and threatened in a new country. I just paid and left.

When asked to pay, I wanted the food because it was an absolute loot to take the money away and ask to leave just to inform the problem the customer has with the food. Looking at their food hygiene standards, I was concerned that they would serve the same food to someone else, and therefore, I took the packed food and dumped it in the garbage outside their restaurant.

From where I come from, if the customer doesn't like the food, they get to ask to change the dish and not get shouted at. Another influential lie is we ate the food more than 70% reality was not even 5% eaten; right after a couple of bites, we realized eating that level of spice was a risk to our health and politely suggested that this couldn't be eaten. Owners taking pride in their food is great, but not to the level of taking it too personally and insulting customers.

Additionally, I have visited several countries and eaten in several restaurants and never had this kind of experience in my whole life. I suggest the owner do some courses on hospitality and customer service. People like these are the reason why tourists can get scared of new places and take a terrible story with them to their country and will impact future travelers.

If the owner wants to take it any further, I have the video recording of the complete conversation, which will prove who showed aggressive behavior, and shouted, and I was the real victim. The same will be uploaded on my Instagram page soon tagging the restaurant. I will ensure not another tourist gets to be treated like this. I hope at least Netherland/Indian authorities will take action against such anti national and racist comments made...

All Tourists, please beware of this Place. I went to Amsterdam for the first time and instantly fell in love with this beautiful city. To me it seemed like people here are very friendly and welcoming until I met this restaurant owner.

On our first day of the trip we wanted to try Indian cuisine so we drove 45 minutes to go to this restaurant. We ordered an appetizer and a curry along with Naan. The appetizer wasn’t bad but the curry was too spicy, I tried this same curry in many restaurants before but this one was different, it had no flavour and no taste, all that I could taste and smell was red chilly powder. It was so spicy that my eyes and nose started running and turning red and I couldn’t take another bite. I shared my concern with the staff and the restaurant owner, the owner started convincing me saying that this curry is meant to be spicy and I told him that all we could taste is red chilli powder and very kindly requested if they could replace it. Without saying a word he grabbed the dish from our table and left angrily. We had no clue about what was happening. Did he take it to throw it away ? Or to replace it ? Or to fix it? By this time we could sense his rude and arrogant behaviour . After waiting for ten minutes he came back and placed a dish on the table and said that he fixed it and made it less spicy, we asked him what was added to make this less spicy just to make sure that he did not add any allergens. For no reason he started yelling at us and said “if you want to eat it you eat or else just leave” . After receiving such insane hospitality we couldn’t sit there for a minute so we stood up to leave. He made his staff close the main door and said that we could leave only if we paid for what we ordered. I asked him - Why would someone pay to get this kind of treatment and he is the one who asked us to leave . He started passing abusive statements saying towards Indians. These words stuck me hard, I just wanted to get out of there so we paid for what we didn’t eat and then he opened the door...
