Thai Thara — Local services in Amsterdam

After all these 5 stars my expectations were... high! Having been to many in Amsterdam, I unfortunately found this experience one of my less good ones. The welcome was warm and the place was warm but reception area rather brightly lit and rooms good enough though other places I’ve been have more atmosphere and attention to detail... and beds rather than on-floor mattress like the photos had me think.

To the massage and from the get go she was very fast and hard with her strokes and this mostly felt ok but when it got to my tender joints like arms and outter shoulders it was very painful and I tended up quite a lot. There was a language barrier but I assume the body language of tensing up should communicate that you need to adjust and go softer.

When it got to laying on my back and she pressed so hard on the front side of my neck it was really unpleasant . I want to believe this was doing me good but really I left feeling like I need another massage to recover from it!

If you're looking for an extremely effective massage, look no further! Super professional, friendly, and clean, HUGE massage tables so you can spread out, but most importantly one of the best massages I've ever had and I am SO PICKY. Most other places have only half fulfilled my needs. Recommend 1000%. This place nailed it!

I'm very active mentally and physically and have a lot of tension in my body and have been searching for massage therapists who can apply the right amount of pressure (A LOT) at specific trigger points for years and years. If I'm not in pain during the massage and the following couple days, it wasn't a good massage, in my opinion. My therapist was so lovely and in tune with my body, she didn't rush, and she made sure I got exactly what I came for. Not only do they use their body weight for maximum pressure but combined with the hot oil is pure magic. It felt both relaxing and therapeutic at the same time. One of the worst massages of my life (and I’ve had many!) The woman sort of rubbed oil randomly, plucked at my ligaments and joints without actually doing any real muscle or body work. She injured my neck by sticking her fingers extremely hard into my vertebrae’s (anyone with any massage training knows this is a huge no) so I couldn’t turn my head for a week. The massage was also completely uneven. She spent about an hour on my right leg, and like five minutes on my left leg. It makes me think that the “therapist” hasn’t actually been properly trained for massage. The music was the same Chinese tea house on repeat, which might drive someone insane.
