My girlfriend and I heard that the pizza here is great, so we decided to give it a try. We ordered food and drinks, and the waiter first brought us a Coca-Cola without a glass, so we asked him nicely if we could have a glass and he asked with or without ice and we said without ice. After 6-7 minutes, the waiter arrived with a glass full of ice :)). We waited for the pizza for about 30-40 minutes, it was clearly crowded in the restaurant, and only two waiters were working and they were visibly "swimming". The pizza as pizza is great, it really is one of the most delicious I've ever tasted, the dough is perfect, however, while I was eating my second slice of pizza, I felt something sharp in my mouth and immediately spat it out. I had something to see, a piece of glass/plastic was in the crust of my pizza, and I bled my tongue eating it. I immediately went to the waiter and told him what had happened, he apologized profusely, said he was very sorry and that he would take it off my bill. And now I'm standing at the bar, waiting to see what would happen, and another waiter comes and says that their colleague didn't come on shift, that it is chaos and that they are barely getting anything done. And now I go back to my table, thinking how I would get my second pizza since I hadn't eaten the first one and I managed to hurt myself. After 40 minutes I ask the waiter what happened to my pizza and will I get it, to which he replies "You can order another one, but the dough takes a long time to make and you'll be waiting a long time". My girlfriend and I look at each other in disbelief, and the waiter adds "it would be nice if we got you a second pizza, that would be really nice". This has never happened to me in my life, first of all finding a piece of glass in my food, which I could have swallowed and then having consequences, then not getting another pizza and then such behavior of the staff and service. I really don't know if I need to add anything about this place, avoid it in general if you don't want to get hurt while eating and experience very unprofessional and unfriendly staff. Shame because the pizza is really nice...

Prices are very high for what it is - there are better Neapolitan and modern Neapolitan pizzerias in Amsterdam, cheaper and much nicer in terms of quality and taste.
Starting with the starter, we had a croquette that cost 9€, super small and it was quite bland (seasoning would be welcome - like simple salt and pepper?) so it didn’t worth it weather it is 9€ or would have been cheaper. Taste is what matter.
The second starter was Montanara. Badly deep fried. It was soggy and bathing in oil. Deep fried montanara has to be crispy on the outside and light in the mouth.
Then we shared a Bufala pizza, 20€ the pizza. Nothing special at all, it was ok so for 20€, I expected something extremely tasty and out of the ordinary which wasn’t the case. However, the bufala was put in the oven resulting in water coming out and making the dough more soggy. Best is to put the bufala at the exit to keep the crunchiness of the dough.
Talking about the dough, it seems (I’m not sure 100% sure and just assuming but according to the color for it) that they use only white flour and I like the dough to be wholewheat or at least adding type 2 in the flour mix to have more fibers and protein rather than just refined flour. The crust was also a bit chewy, I like my dough to be lighter and more crunchy (more biga, more hydration and more dehydrated in the oven) but it is my personal preference.
The service was ok. Waiters were kind but not knowledgeable at all. We asked what type of oven they used and he was not capable of answering… so the floor could and should definitely be trained in knowing the products (food and oven) of the restaurant. Randomly saying that everything is good is not giving a good image to a supposed high-end pizzeria.
I don’t mind paying for quality but this pizzeria is definitely not worth this price. Improve the quality and maybe the price would be justified but as for now, we are just paying the name of Vincenzo Capuano.

Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We had to wait for over an hour just to get a table – which was still fine, since we wanted to sit outside (inside tables were available earlier). But then it got worse: after finally being seated, it took about 45 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. Another 30 minutes later, our food still hadn’t arrived – in fact, the table next to us was served our food by mistake.
When we finally got our dishes, one of the pizzas was wrong. At that point, we didn’t even bother complaining anymore because the whole process had already taken far too long. The service throughout was extremely poor. The waiter spent most of the time just standing outside, looking annoyed, rather than actually working. Staff in general seemed unfriendly, irritated, and very slow. We even saw them spill drinks over other guests and repeatedly mix up orders.
Overall, the service was chaotic, unprofessional, and unpleasant. Definitely not a place we would recommend. Even though the pizza was...
