There is nothing negative to say about this place except from the fact that you will probably have to wait in a que to be seated depending on the hour you visit it. But that goes to show you how good it is. First of all, the options are all AMAZING. On the 3 days I stayed in Amsterdam , I visited twice just because it was SO GOOD. On my first time I had toasted banana bread with mascarpone cheese , berries, strawberries and almond flakes. That dish was criminally good , especially for 14 euros. Quite fulfilling as well since I didn't feel hungry at all for the better part of the day. The service was a 10/10 and I'm not over reacting , it was really top class. I visited again 2 days afterwards , tried the cajole chicken greenwoods special and THAT is truly a breakfast for champions. My only recommendation for the establishment is to provide thinner slices of bread (I believe they are too thick ) and to add some kind of refreshing juicy flavor apart from the tomatoes because you have the chicken , the baecon and the cheese but the 2 slices of tomatoes can't offset the saltyness/smokiness of these 3. I had to get 2 glasses of water and 1 green tea with mint (which was very refreshing and truly the best choice for that dish so a big thank you to the owner for recommending it when I asked for a soda drink). I didn't manage to empty my plate and that's rare for me so the proportions are not going to disappoint anyone. So , we have a truly fantastic service , unforgettable flavors , very good coffee (my apologies but I forgot to mention it) , decent proportions. A complete experience, it can even be included in the "value for money" list just because of the proportions and the quality. I'm obviously going to visit this place again and again....and again the next time I visit Amsterdam. It's probably going to be one of the reasons I'll visit Amsterdam. So , thank you for the fantastic experience. It was a stark contrast compared to another famous establishment nearby (the one with the apple pies ) that proved to be a disappointment. Bellow you will see pictures of the 2 dishes mentioned above .

If you’re looking for a place that captures the warmth, charm, and pure satisfaction of a perfect meal in Amsterdam, Greenwood’s Single is it. From the moment you step inside this cozy, inviting spot tucked along the canal, you feel like you’ve stumbled upon something special — the kind of place you’ll immediately want to tell everyone about (but also selfishly keep to yourself). Atmosphere: Greenwood’s has that effortlessly authentic vibe that so many cafes try to imitate but so few truly achieve. It’s intimate without feeling cramped, bustling without being chaotic. Wood accents, welcoming smiles, and the sight of gorgeous plates being delivered to happy customers set the tone right away. Whether you’re sitting indoors among the soft chatter or grabbing a spot outside by the water, the atmosphere is pure comfort. Service: The service at Greenwood’s Single is top-notch. Friendly without being overbearing, attentive but relaxed — the staff clearly take pride in making sure every guest feels looked after. They are happy to offer recommendations, explain the dishes, and genuinely seem excited for you to enjoy your meal. Food: Where do I begin? The food is nothing short of outstanding. Every dish feels carefully prepared, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and plated with love. • The Full English Breakfast is legendary — hearty, perfectly cooked, and deeply satisfying without being greasy or heavy. • Even the simple side salads were crisp and vibrant, dressed just right. • And don’t get me started on the homemade scones — warm, crumbly, and served with clotted cream and jam. A dream. Drinks: Their coffee game is strong — rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. Whether you’re after a flat white, an Americano, or just a classic black coffee, they’ll nail it. They also offer fresh juices, teas, and even a few cocktails if you want to linger into the afternoon. Value: Considering the quality of the food, the generous portions, and the beautiful location, Greenwood’s is excellent value. You leave full, happy, and feeling like you’ve genuinely gotten more than your money’s worth.

It was a rainy Sunday around 12 o’clock when my and my friend got to Greenwoods. There was a queue already, it took us an hour to got in. And it was only getting longer and longer. There was also a possibility to sit outside and be served quicker but the weather was really not nice. Inside area is really small and tables are very close to each other. There was no radiator and the doors outside were open all the time, as the waitresses were going in and out. We were lucky enough to get one by the window. Service was really nice and quick, we didn’t wait for our food long (15 minutes maybe?). Coffe was nice, peppermint tea as well. I ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate to warm up, it was delicious. Then my friend decided to get some as well but the peanut butter one - we both decided it was too heavy to drink, not as smooth as mine. My truffle benedict was okay, the toast was definitely too hard, either to chew or cut. My friend ordered eggs royal, which she didn’t like but in my opinion they were better than my dish. We decided to order french toasts to go (I guess you know this feeling when you can’t decide if you want a sweet breakfast or not). They were just okay. In the end we weren’t impressed, for sure it’s not worth to wait an hour, whether is raining or not. We decided to give it another chance and it was a disaster. Waitress left us with menu, when we were ready to order she told us half of the menu is not available anymore (it was around 12-1pm). So we had to go through menu again. Tables are too close, waitresses all the time were pushing my chair. Eggs royal were tasteless, like the cook has no taste buds. My mate had some eggs (pic) on some toast bread (supermarket vibe) with ham (same vibe).

The food at the restaurant is really good and being here numerous times the food is always on point

However in terms of customer satisfaction it is really really poor

If you are ok to conform and eat exactly what you are told then you will be fine

However as a vegan you need to go off menu some what , i will share the exact story as it unfolds

after waiting outside in the cold for 20 mins we were able to sit down

On ordering our food the below back and forward took place

(My partners order who is not vegan ) Customer:Can we have scrambled egg , toast and beans Server : no sorry we do not do add ons on there own so you cannot create your own breakfast However we can offer you scrambled eggs on toast on out menu but without the tomato , and add beans Customer : hmmm ok thats fine (slightly confused) Customer: can we also get the veggie breakfast without eggs and cheese and replace with beans and toast Server : unfortunately we cannot remove items and replace them Customer: so we have to pay the full price with removed items Server : yes , but you can then add items Customer: (slightly frustrated but ok) so can we add beans and toast Server Server : eyes rolling and a tut Customer: is everything ok ? Server : well our chef doesn’t like to go off menu Customer: so can we add these items or is this a problem Server :why dont you have pancakes Customer: no thanks we want a breakfast Server : we are not a vegan restaurant and there are restaurants you can go to that serve for vegans Customer: so i should go to another restaurant? Server : (eye rolls ) thats fine we can do what you request

The point of the review is to bring awareness that 1 this is terrible customer service, 2 you should not have to feel like you are causing an issue by requesting your dietary needs to a serving restaurant and especially on the back of advertising vegan options and spending very 100 euros for a breakfast

I would not be impressed if this was my business conducting these kind of interactions with clients

Simply out the food is really Good and has been every-time

The customer service is way below standard and that expected at a fast food chain

I would suggest some form of training for staff in terms of decorum and manners and customer service

Today was a poor poor show .

If your restaurant is for meat eaters and you cannot manoeuvre around some changes off menu i suggest you state this very clearly and attract the clientele you solely wish for ….

Do...
