We were excited to try the food as we saw the good reviews and are pasta lovers. From the minute we turned up we were greeted with a lot of hostility from one of the waitresses. We decided to ignore her attitude that she was using as she spoke to us as we simply wanted to enjoy our food. However, this went a step too far when we were served the wrong starter. My partner is vegetarian and we both strictly don’t eat beef because of religious reasons (so for context we had no idea what beef tartare even was or looked like as we’ve never had any beef). We ordered the egg plant starter but were served beef tartare. We assumed the beef was tomato as all we saw were small red rectangular cubes but when we tried it had a strange soft texture so I clarified with a waiter if this was definitely the tomato egg plant started. Initially she said yes then backtracked and said no when she asked the kitchen. We clarified that we both don’t eat beef for religious purposes and were understandably very shocked at having been served a raw beef dish. This was brushed off and the waiter said not to worry as it was the kitchens fault for the mix up so we wouldn’t be charged. The rude waitress then interrupted and said we’d be charged because we accepted the meal despite knowing it’s not the one we ordered. I was very shocked but am not a confrontational person so kindly explained that we had no idea what beef tartare looks like and would never have accepted it if we had known. This was very rudely met with an eye roll and she stormed off while I was mid sentence. The manager then came and asked what the problem was and still stated we had to pay even after we explained we were wrongly served a meat dish despite us not eating beef! After we refused, the manager let go of the complaint and understood that we shouldn’t be charged. The rude waitress then proceeded to talk about us in Italian saying “how can you not know what beef tartare is! It’s clearly beef they’re unbelievable! Are they stupid!” not knowing I lived in Italy all my life and speak Italian!! We simply let this go as we wanted to enjoy the rest of the night and didn’t want to make a scene for everyone else but as the only people of colour in that restaurant and seeing how polite this particular waitress was with everyone else we were so shocked to have been treated this way! Not only to have been served raw meat to a vegetarian person but also to be shamed for eating it and nearly made to pay for a mistake from them is unacceptable. Then to be gossiped about in another language and completely ignored for the rest of the night despite us not wanting to escalate the situation made it very uncomfortable. I hope they can learn some cultural competence and some of the staff need to learn some manners because this treatment is not okay. To the point that one of her colleagues came after to apologise for...

Edit: After leaving my below review, the chef/owner has found my partner’s number from our booking and phoned her to shout abuse over what happened when we visited and the fact we left a review after!!!
The food is quite nice, however the service is TERRIBLE!
We arrived there and walked over to the bar area as no one came to the front door to seat us (and it’s also quite small so we didn’t want to be in the way) I was told to go back and wait by the front door (quite abruptly), but thought nothing of it.
We were then seated and upon ordering, we were told 4 of the 8 or so items on the menu weren’t available as they’d ran out, so we had to change our order… fair enough.
Our mains arrived, at which point we noticed that the meat part of my partner’s meal was missing (the waitress hadn’t told us this) and so was the rocket, so essentially she now just had a plate of pesto spaghetti. We pointed both out to the waitress - she responded by saying they had ran out of the meat, and that she’d bring a plate of rocket which we can add to the dish. To make it worse, I had now tried my food to find it was half hot and half cold?!
When the waitress returned with the rocket for my partner, I advised that it would have been preferable if we were told prior to the food coming, that they’d ran out of the meat, so that we could have ordered something else, as my partner had only ordered this dish because of the meat part!… The waitress responded, raising her voice, saying that she did not own the restaurant, it was not her fault, and that I’d need to speak to the chef. She then proceeded to accuse me of being rude ever since I’d arrived - absolutely untrue - and THEN started telling other guests that my partner and I are rude. Another staff member joined in, to the point that even the chef came over and essentially asked us to leave.
Awful, awful experience, and not worth it for...
Read moreI was there two weeks ago after reserving a table almost a month in advance. I was pretty excited to go here with my girlfriend.
Interior: the place is quite some and has some cozy atmosphere. I like the vibe you get here. It looks like a traditional Italian restaurant like you imagine it to be. The music was very loud during the whole evening and did not suit the restaurant’s idea at all. I recommend going for some good old Italian music and a little softer. I had quite some struggle holding a conversation.
Drinks: The wine is okay but not exceptionally good. The cocktails I cannot judge. However, what I’ve seen on other guests’ tables did not look so appealing.
Food: You can get some bread in the beginning as a side snack. The bread comes as two separate slices and is charged € 3. This is very important to mention when offering this to the guests. We went for the truffle ravioli and spaghetti bolognese. The food arrived very quickly. I was surprised by how small the portions were because you charge almost €20 each for self-made pasta. As a dessert, we each had a tiramisu. This was also set way too high with €6 for a small piece of this kind of desert.
Service: The service was kind but not exceptionally great.
Paying such high prices for the food, I personally expected more. I was very much looking forward to this evening in your restaurant but definitely got disappointed. Though I think your restaurant has great potential. You still have to lift...
