If one were in search of an authentic tapas experience, it would be advisable to look elsewhere than Tapas Amsterdam Tia Rosa. Despite its promising ambiance and central location, the establishment falls considerably short of expectations.
To start, the wait time was inordinately long, a predicament that could perhaps be overlooked if the subsequent meal had made up for it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The bread, often a cornerstone in a tapas spread, was disappointing. Served merely as a simple loaf with an uninspired tomato sauce, it lacked the flair and flavor one associates with Spanish cuisine.
The croquettes—or “crocette” as they were described—were a gastronomic letdown. Far from the delicious, crispy morsels one might anticipate, these had an off-putting taste that left much to be desired. In an environment where the culinary world offers an array of choices for tapas, serving such subpar dishes not only misses the mark but also raises questions about value for money.

Read moreMy colleague and I were ravenous when we came so we barely took pictures. The food was honestly great but overpriced. Portions are not big so I'd recommend at least 3 items for each person. We shared the octopus, sardines, shrimps, patatas bravas, steak, and empanadas. The desserts were so delightful and actually the portions were quite big. The cheesecake was to die for and my colleague also enjoyed her portion of strawberries and cream (+churro!)
The interior was very well-put together so bonus points for romantic/cozy ambiance. Service was alright, I thought some waiters gave the vibe like they were not enjoying the shift so it bothered us a bit but there was one waitress that was so kind! I wish we had asked for her name so we could write a nice review for her :)
Overall it's a nice place to dine in. Great to go with a large group to share more items...

Boletus with mushroom had a flavor profile of a dish rag soaked in shiitake water that could've used an accompanying sauce since the overall "mush" quality didn't uplift it anyhow.
Overall the venue had a cosy, slight rustic feel to it that felt calming, too bad the staff seemed rather stressed to match the vibe. Went here to try out something familiar, came to the conclusion that we've definitely had better experiences elsewhere, and...
