Bagels & Beans Van Coothplein Breda — Restaurant in Breda

I stopped by for a snack and something warm to drink. Initially, I had my eye on a bagel, but the wait time was too long, so I went with a slice of cheesecake instead—which turned out to be a great choice. What really intrigued me, though, was the cinnamon-licorice-star anise tea. It sounded like the perfect way to warm up in this weather.

Unfortunately, the tea didn’t quite live up to its promise. While the presentation was lovely, simply putting dry cinnamon and licorice sticks in hot water doesn’t do much. The spices barely infused the tea, leaving me with a faintly flavored warm water.

We were on our way to Amsterdam (from Paris) and decided to stop in Breda for a coffee / breakfast, last August 2014. The Bagels & Beans is welcoming, clean, weel decorated. The staff is attentive and kind. We had "energy yoghurt" there.. fresh and delicious! My wife had a fresh carrot-orange juice, I had a coffee.. excellent. Moreover, prices are very reasonable. Nice...

Probably my favourite café in Breda. Although I’m yet to try the bagels, their mocha is ridiculously good as is the banana bread they offer. The staff is always friendly and the menu is also available in English, which isn’t always a given in Breda.

The only complaint I have about this place is that they close at 17:00, which means that you cannot grab a nice coffee...
