Delicious creative food, well dressed in a nice and quiet ambiance. FOOD: Man what a wonderful food experience. A unexpected mix of delicious ingredients that are perfectly prepared, with some unexpected surprises that just top off the experience. The combinations are a bit daring but turn out great. This chef really understands how different specific preparations of ingredients can blend into a great taste together. Don’t get scared off if you’re not into potatoes. It’s not potato dishes, they just also use potatoes in the dishes, and it fits.

MENU There are 50% vegetarian options, and a vegan. They have enough drink options including alcohol free beer and the best gingerbeer brand.

AMBIANCE The place is not too big and well dressed. It’s a place that emanates food enjoyment so in my case other guests were also keeping the volume down. They don’t play music, the personnel is quiet and takes their time for things, so I imagine it’s always this nice.

All in all, a wonderful experience to be your guest, I’m definitely coming back and bringing others who will love this too. Thank you!

It is quite the choice making a restaurant focused on just potatoes, yet at "De jongens van zand en klei" they manage to pull it off.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and food. They are enthusiastic and it feels like they are dedicated to the cause of putting the potato in the spotlight.

The menu offers vegetarian options, but is otherwise compact. It is wise to start with the starter plate in the picture, which offers you several bite size snacks dedicated fully to the potato, but pack quite the palette of flavours.

The main courses get served in a 'potato bowl', as shown in the second photo. It uses excellent products to make up a tasteful dish, incorporating several types of vegetables, but again, making good use of the potato. There can also be had a good variety of desserts.

In conclusion, a nice looking restaurant that has friendly and professional staff...

We tried it recently but since then it has become one of our favorite places in Breda and we have been there a few times for dinner already. Don't think it is just a potato place! It really delivers super original, healthy, high class, delicious food in a very cozy atmosphere and at a very goos price, decoration is great and the staff super friendly and customer oriented....
