Response to owner: I am 100% sure that it was this restaurant, you can see in the photo I attached that I was at this restaurant. I just looked through your Google reviews and not receiving drinks/trouble with negative staff members is the main theme of your negative reviews, maybe take accountability and speak with your staff? We were on vacation and didn’t even get the chance to eat here so I don’t expect a reply or anything from this review. I just hope this feedback can help other people not experience the same, which only you can do. You have a beautiful restaurant and I would have loved to have tried it.
I have never walked out of a restaurant before, but last night I did. When we first got there a really lovely waitress sat us in her section, but came back a few minutes later and said that she had a better table for us and moved us to another section. We then waited 20 minutes for a waitress to stop by and take our drink order and ask if we wanted menus, which of course we did. We ordered two cocktails and waited another 30 minutes for her to stop back by and take our food order. Still no drinks, we then waited another 20 minutes, still no drinks or water or literally anything while sitting in the heat. We even saw our original waitress glance at our table and kind of throw her hands up like she couldn’t believe we still didn’t have anything at our table. All around us tables with other servers who came after us were getting their drinks and food. So we started trying to flag our server down. She walked past us 3 times with us waving and trying to get her attention before finally we got up and left. To rub salt in the wound we walked past our original table when leaving who already had drinks and food in front of them. Ended up at the Grand Café 'Gouverneur De Rouville' for the night where we had incredible service. We really wanted pizza last night though and were extremely disappointed by...
Read moreFirst of all: the pizza is amazing! The dough is crunchy with a nice fresh taste. Kudos to the chef! Unfortunately the rest of our experience was mixed. The service team did its best to accommodate us and they were friendly, but it was obvious they were a bit overwhelmed with a full restaurant. What was really annoying was that half of the cocktails weren’t available because they didn’t have the ingredients. Also, we waited really long for everything (we were a very big group though) - even drinks. And some of our orders were forgotten. The Vitello Tonnato we ordered definitely had hummus instead of tuna sauce. Weird. And no bread came along with it. I would not recommend that dish, it is not worth its price. My friend has a pasta Alfredo where the sauce was very watery and bland.
I liked the atmosphere of the place, but agree with previous commenters that the benches are super uncomfortable. If I have to wait 1.5 hours dir food, then I would prefer to do so on a comfortable seat and at least get some free bread as it is common in Italian restaurants. :) The prices are quite high for...
Read moreI'm shamelessly addicted to pizza and I apologize for my behaviour as a food substance abuser. Pizza is my obsession and I search it out everywhere to hone my tasting skills. It is selfish, I'm sorry.
I've had pizza on 4 continents and in Rome, Florence and Turin. The best was this little place to the left of the Trevi Fountain where I cried unashamedly into the luxurious mix of mozzarella, basil and tomato crowning the thin base, good enough for the pope to bless.
The pizza at Mi Familia, even though created by a chef raised in Florence, fell short of what I expected. Both the base and cheese seemed to be cheap versions of what they should be and the final product suffered from a lack of basil.
The mozarella for the caprese was not bufala.
The service was shocking and one could tell the owner or manager was not present. At one point a vehicle stopped, honked once and all the staff ran to the young lady in the passenger seat and even brought her a drink. That lasted about ten minutes.
However, the pasta was outstanding even though we weren't...
